I would say just reinforce the rear subframe. setup the rear diff possibly using something aftermarket. like getting a spool made or using an LSD the KAAZ unit i have seems pretty bullet proof. Set it up right, like its been said above use a spacer to preload the pinion not the factory crush...
I'm using a sprung HPF bronze with stock PP and an ACT Billet steel flywheel.
The combo is supposed to hold 550 FT.lbs of torque. However i do have a V160, but i assume the same combo on the R154 would be similar.
I've got an 87 hardtop with no abs, which is currently undergoing a very similar transformation.
2jZ-GTE/w V160, KAAZ 2-way LSD, SCCA cage, Massive weight reduction, Kirky racing seat, custom steering column with 1.5:1 quickener, the engines in a bit lower and farther back then you'll get it...
a Stripped 240sx no engine/trans. half interior two of us couldn't move. but three of us could lift it several feet. . but we're pretty big guys.
I find it quite hard to believe the bare rolling chassis is 2300lbs.. I'll have to weigh mine.
My goal is 2800lbs with cage. I'd like 2700lbs...
I had planned on driving the sup down from Michigan. I don't know if i can make it next year. If you guys set up some kinda underground thing, I might still make the trip.
If not i guess ill have to figure out some other big meet somewhere far away to drive to.
Don't wanna thread jack but does anyone know if the MKIII uses the same stud press fit diameter as MKIV's ? becuase MKIV guys use ARP SC300 studs because they are longer (and stronger). wanted to know if i can do the same
High Impedence = High resistance/reactance. No resistor pack, controlled directly by the ECU 440cc 2J injectors
Low Impedence = Low resistance. Requires resistor pack or injector driver to prevent High amperage from flowing through the ECU. 2J 550cc's
I can probably imagine what that looks like.
Also pay close attention, if it went out really fast it may be oil soaked.. Check your Rear main seal.
If its oil soaked you may be able to salvage the Flywheel :)
I bought an OBX V160 6spd shifter. The B&M knock off, just to get me running. OMG ! the modifications I had to do were rediculas. I had to Cut the hole in the shifter tripod deal bigger because it hit going into reverse.
it Came with like 4 roll pins and 3 C-clips, all of which were the wrong...
I'm Running 17X10 +12 with 295/35/17. However this setup will not clear a stock wheel well.
My $0.02 is if you going with a wheel as inexpensive as a mustang (Cobra) repro wheel. then get something that fits well now like a 9.5, run 275's. Then by the time you spend all the money and labor...
Damn, ace if you can just get me some finished carbon sheets for the kinda money i get all my toys from you for ill prolly take like 10 or more.
Hmmm, You guys think CF gauges ontop of a CF filler panel is to much CF ??
I was origionally thinking Brushed Aluminum panel... but now CF is...
This is my setup.
It is for a getrag 6spd but theory applies.
ACT billet Steel flywheel
Horsepower freaks bronze disk
Stock Pressure plate
This Setup is supposed to "Easily" Hold 550 Ft.lbs of torque. I chose the setup because its the lowest amount of clamping force by far you can get...
Ok I'm going to be buying two sets of twins (got a good deal) and was planning to run the two best turbos. My question is. If the secondary turbos are in better condition (which i would assume since their not used all the time) Can i just swap the cartridges into the primarys?
Are the...
In The steering and suspension classes at The university of northwestern ohio they talk about these alot. They only really touch on them in Auto S&S though and since im not diesel i really didn't pay attention. They said like the majority of semi tires use these. I just remember a hilarious...
