Ok I found my answer. I finally found my micrometer and used this link for reference to measure peak intake cam lift: http://www.turbosupras.com/pages/pages/specifications/JZA80/jza80.htm Looks like mine are JDM.. 91Supra313, I posted a reply in your thread too with this info.

I was trying to find the answer too, Here is what you have to do: Use a micrometer to measure the peak lift on the Intake cams (marked No.1). The USDM will be higher on the intake but should be the same for the exhaust. Use this link for reference...

Do you have a micrometer that you can use to measure the max lift on the two different intake cam lobes? Do you know if the intake cam is No.1 or No.2 according to the stamps? Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

It was, but I did not find out until months later when I tried to install. This was 4-5 years ago. They did not fit in the areas needing to be machined.

I have had a set of 2JZGTE cams but I don't know for sure that they are USDM. (the guy I bought them from said they were machined for a 1JZ, they are not, so I can't be sure about where they are from). They have the 2JT stamp on one, then JZ on the other, and a few other number stamps, and also...

do you get similar numbers in each cylinder, on different tries? meaning do you get the same reading from the same cylinder if you test it more than once? (but after testing a different cylinder first before returning to the other)

are you basically wanting to test that your 2jz compressor works before you have the system filled? because besides that, you could have other problems that you won't know about until you get the system evacuated and refilled in my opinion. but I am interested in learning more because my a/c...
