it is a lot of fun to do! topspeed at the end of the straight is about 220Km/h (136 Mph) then brake for the hairpin to a speed of 80 km/h (50 Mph) in about 100 meters! thats a lot of fun indeed!
Zandvoort, the Netherlands
i did the 4.2 Km in just over 2:13 min. :icon_razz
this was the first time with the thicker swaybars from suspension technics and i knocked off 3-4 sec from my previous times
its like FSLANE88 said, if you can make the 4 bolt patern of the turbo to match the three bolt patern on the manifold, youre there!
and because the rear turbo is more to the back of the engine you'll need to bang-up the firewall for about 1 inch.
if you got the parts its almost a direct fit...
more reliable.. i don't know.. im driving like this for about 4/5 years now, never had a problem.
faster, cheaper! yes
and less junk in the enginebay :biglaugh:
ps: i drive the car on trackdays, and outside the track, i drive the car like its been stolen :evil2:
Its me!
if you're gonna do this, its like i said in the qoute from SF.
i used the JDM 2JZ turbo's because they have a 3 bolt patern, just like the 1JZ exhaust manifold (turbo's are slightly bigger).
i also used 2 front turbine's, so i didn't have the problem of the sequential stuff. there...
you're right if you ment RPM, but thats only WITH an auto tranny! with a manual you will have no such thing! no difference there..
you have a gte version that is important.
yep me..
We used two 2jz front turbos (turbine), as they both have wastegates (the rear turbo has a spoolup port, which can be converted to a wastegate by some drilling and installing a bushing).
for the compressor side we used the normal front and back
The custom Y pipe is a lot of work...
just the engine is no problem, its the stock turbo's wich are the pain in the.... and by slightly hammering down the firewall you'll have no problem at all :)
i think the picture is taken from under the intake manifold..
@ jdub
can you show me the location of the internal thermostat?
and i know for a fact that rich normaly uses a Apex oilfilter..
