Can anyone help me out with the full OEM part #'s for the gasket where the elbow mounts to the rear of the turbo and the gasket where the rear of the downpipe meets the main cat? I have partial #'s from the online tsrm of 17279 & 17451 respectively but these #'s are not complete.

I guess the one thing missing here is whether the original author of this thread has removed the precat and replaced it with a downpipe. That was the single most heat reduction for me.

Seems too many have lost that crank pulley due to poor installation practices including improper torqueing procedures. Many don't have the torque wrench for the 195 ft lbs so they just rely on what they think is their "Expert Feel" during assembly

Metric.....Metric!!!!!!!! If you use bolts, they should match the metric thread on the original studs. There are no 5/16 or 3/8 bolts, studs, or threads on a Jap Supra. Just metric ! Take your sample thread to Ace, or the auto parts store and match the thread. Or, if the new stud will fit thru...

That's what threw me. Seems like most of the ones I looked at, including the popular BIC, appear to be rigid. The HKS advertises a flex, but it does not eliminate the restrictive stock turbo elbow.

Is there a drawback to using one of the 3" stainless downpipes with the flex section to relieve stress from alignment other than the appearance?

Don't rule out the BHG! Remeber, it's a Aluminum head and everything expands and contracts, possibly opening and closing the blowby from your head gasket. Therefore, compression and leakdown tests don't always give you a true picture. Get the Combustion Leak Tester (Block Tester Kit) from...

If it is indeed stolen, which it appears to possibly be, you can be charged legally for parting it out, just like the owner of a chop shop. My advice is to dump it somewhere and pretend you never touched it. It's not worth a felony charge. Also, if the rightful owner (Maybe on this board)...

I have a stock 89 turbo with 60k original miles. Is it advisable to add a downpipe for the purpose of eliminating the excessive heat generated by the oem pre-cat and therefore hopefully extending the engine life?

Where is the best place to purchase a dash pad for my 89 MK-111. The generic ones from Checker, etc. don't seem to fit right.
