I purchased it in August of 99, and the production...
Just as a follow up, I used an 89+ brake sensor box (in this case it was ivory colored) and it worked just fine. The light went off on the dash. Thanks to everyone who replied.
Update: I checked with Toyota and there are 2 possible brake light sensor failure boxes:
86.5 to 88
and
89 to 92
Two boxes.
The same part number for 89 through 92.
Also, it looks like the brake light lens and bulb holders are compatible through the 89 to 92 years...
Wow, dummy me, I used an 87 yellow box instead (my original old one and another one).
So I am assuming the boxes differ from pre 89 to 89+ ?
So will the 89+ yellow box correct the problem? Won't my 87 computer trigger the failure light anyway?
Hello all,
I have an 87 Turbo manual, 87 stock ECU, and it had the old style spoiler with the rectangular 3rd brake light.
I first upgraded to the 89+ rear lights and center piece and that worked fine with no errors for 3 years.
My latest upgrade was the 3 piece spoiler, and after...
I am taking my MK3 Supra to the body shop next month and am wondering if anyone has suggestions for a black paint color? It does not have to be from Toyota.
I am considering straight black and also black with another color in it such as purple, producing more of a black pearl type paint...
All,
I have an LSD from an 87 Turbo (3.9). Will it fit in a 4.30 pumpkin?
In other words, I have the LSD guts from an 87 MKIII Supra Turbo; will it fit into the container of say a non Turbo MKIII Supra (4.3)?
Yes the turbo lined up. I have the SupraSport Turbo Elbow. Do you have a turbo elbow? I am not sure about your setup.
This BOSS turbo is intended to replace the stock CT-26 turbo and be an easy bolt on system (plug and play).
If you didn't make any changes to the stock setup to bolt on...
Thanks for your help.
I understand about the drill and tap for the extra port.
OK stupid question time:
I do not understand the actuator adjustment. There is a nut which I can see. How do I know when the port is fully closed? I guess I need clarification.
Hi all,
I just installed the BOSS turbo stage 5 on my 87 Supra. I have the HKS electronic boost controller and it has 2 vacuum lines on the end of it.
On the stock setup one of the lines went to the actuator and the other one went to the turbo. The BOSS turbo only has a port on the...
So true about the AFM sensor....I was told by Champion Toyota that Toyota does not sell the black electronics box separately; you have to buy the entire AFM assembly to get the electronics ($500+ dollars ouch). I even asked what about Lexus black electronics box from say a Lexus SC400 ans was...
The idle problem I was having was caused by a bad fuel pressure regulator. I had an Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator and it was 4 years old (about 15,000 miles). Replacing the fuel pressure regulator took care of the jumpy and erratic idle, the fluctuating idle fuel pressure and the resting...
Contact Champion Toyota -- ask for Jeff Watson. He will know.

I know an AUTO ECU will work with an auto or manual tranny.
A manual ECU and an auto harness should be OK. To be sure you can call Champion Toyota (google it); it used to be called "Jay Marks Toyota". Ask for Mike Cothren he can help you/direct you to the right person.
That being said I...
