thanks for help guys but it was just the 100amp alternator fuse. I had soldered it together one day a long time ago when I didn't have one on hand to get car started. Never thought about it again. New fuse and its fine.lol
Haven't taken wires from battery terminal to check.. but makes no sense that head lights work but not dash lights or other electric stuff in car. Battery also shows 12volts. I know alternator is going bad and was loud right before this happened. when I pushed the car off, dash lights were very...
Driving down the road and stereo lights start flashing off and on plus dash lights. when I shut car off and try and start again it does nothing, starter doesn't even click. Also have no dash lights or anything inside car electric, headlights will come on though. I pushed the car off and it ran...
Went out and wiggled the cps wires and it fired up. from the harness clip back to the cps, the little black area where the wires go into cps seems a little loose. Don't see any wires broken on outside of cps. Drove it and now code 12 is gone plus it runs better because I changed the coil pack...
I cleared the codes to see if it would throw any when I tried to start it. The only one I got after trying to start it again was code 12. Would this prevent the car from starting? Ive checked the coil pack with ohm meter and it checked out fine, also tried different coil pack. saw a few threads...
Today I go out to start car after one day of not driving it and it wont start. Engine will turn over fine but just wont start. I think its getting fuel because I have pressure on the fuel pressure regulator gauge. Ive also noticed that there doesn't seem to be a metal contact on one of the...
yeah, ill try and look for any places that air could be getting in. I have a few rubber caps in some spots, maybe they are leaking. Afm screw is backed out as far as it can be as well. Maybe some air is being pulled in from around that screw as if its no longer seated in the threads good, worth...
ok I just noticed where I made this comment in my first post....
With the base fuel pressure that high im not taking out much afm signal in the high rpm range and this is causing me to hit fuel cut at around 18 or so psi. Also have afm screw backed all the way out. (quote first post)...
Thanks for the replys. Ok so its normal for it to run this lean in that rpm range. In that case ill take out some of the afm signal in that rpm range, dont like running +25%. I should gain back some timing doing that. No matter how much I turn up the safc it wont richen up past 12.3/1...
Ok I have had this issue for a while now. Under 3 thousand rpms while at wot My car runs lean. I have the fuel pressure at 45psi(vacume not connected) and im adding around 25% on the safc in that area of rpm band. At these settings im still at like 12.3-12.5/1 air fuel ratio. As soon as it gets...
I have the hks SSQ and I get surge at low boost levels, usualy at 1psi or lower though. Above that and it usualy works fine, would surge from that little of boost hurt things much?
I thought the L98 had 250hp in the vette, 230hp in the GTA transam and Z28 camaro. Its funny, the 1989 turbo v6 transam was fatster than all of them with 300hp,though rated at 250hp to not hurt the vetts feelings.
strange, I have a 7mgte and some years back when I dynoed it bpu the graph looked like the na cam motor here. I made 301bft @ 3200rpm (11psi) and torque droped from that point just like na graph here. Guess its possible that the scum bag that did my head gasket could have switched out my cams...
jdub, thanks for posting the info on how the mk3 ecu goes about dealing with timing control.
I already had a good understanding of the rest though and I fully understand that the max boost limit would be different depending on your own engine set up. I just wanted to see if any mk3 owners had...
I searched but didnt find exactly what I was looking for so... Anyway, over on SF there was a thread on a guy logging his timing on stock ecu with different fuels. pump 93 , a toluene mix and 105 race gas. He was seeing how much the ecu was pulling timing with each fuel at different boost...
Dam dude, hate to hear about your engine going out like that. I have always followed your car on this site and what you was able to do with a bolt on turbo. I know your frustration though when money is small and these cars are giving you big trouble. Would love to see it return but do whats best...
I think that 2jz MKIIIs should run in the MKIII class, not MKIV. Swaping in a 2jz is just doing a big expensive mod to the mk3, it dosnt make it a mk4. There should be rules to engine swaps though.
1. Only 2jz mk3s with stock twins should be run with modified, upgraded turbo 7m supras...
not sure of the size of the waste gate hole on turbo housing . here is a pic I took of kit before installed. The hole on housing seems a little smaller than waste gate hole from the pic but im not sure. Its been a while since I have seen the turbo with out down pipe attached. I know the waste...
