Nice build man, our setups are relatively similar..I'm actually having the same throttle response issues, can't hold a steady speed at all..How did you smooth out your throttle response?
Thanks man, the return line is being changed for a -10 line with an fittings. When I pulled everything off I could see the return hose being kinked slightly, as far as start up pressure I'm not sure but when the car warms up my electric oil gauge reads about 60psi, could be off though who knows...
Alrighty, I got the line made but ran into a snag, can't find the proper fitting to return the -3 line into the block. The guy at the hose/fittings shop couldn't id the the thread on my old fitting, the end going into the block. Also I took a few snapshots of my engine quick, please excuse the...
Aw, thank heavens I got a pro to respond! It's a standard journal bearing model, no shaft play whatsoever. Had a buddy who builds turbo mustangs check out the turbo and he said it seems fine, (who knows though). PCV setup is pretty standard, two hoses on top of the valve covers y-ed into one...
Pretty large lol, as far as size goes I'm not sure. Whats odd is when I took the turbo off I checked the drain for any clogging etc and everything looked good though the return hose looked relatively dry. I'm either going to go to a smaller feed line and/or add a restrictor to that line. I just...
Heh, who knows man, even being basically new it was still sitting for a few years so anything is possible, it boosts just fine but smokes like a mofo and after taking it off the manifold you could see all the oil sitting in the exhaust housing and the downpipe. Definitely bums me out but I'm...
So after getting my car back from a performance shop I noticed it was pluming white smoke out the exhaust, upon removing the downpipe I found oil sitting in the exhaust housing. :3d_frown: The turbo is a Garrett T04R and probably has less than 1k miles on it, it was installed professionally with...
Upon further inspection I found that it was indeed my turbo that was burning the oil, my almost brand new T04R that has only around 500miles on it. Oil was just sitting in the exhaust housing, and the ring/seal underneath the exhaust turbine just spins freely. So now I'm stuck was a leaky turbo...
Whats going on guys, well after 4 years of my car sitting in my driveway it's back on the road and as bad ass as ever! My only issue is that upon getting it back from the performance shop it's been puffing white smoke at idle, smells like oil and I'm wondering why. It was brand new oil from the...
Haha, if I can get her insured/registered in time I'll be there with some brew and all! Either way I'll be there though to show some love, car or no car.
Years back when I bought my car I had a phantom oil leak and it was none other than the CPS, do as the others say above and buy a rebuild kit. Quick and easy..Best of luck to you!
+1
I'd say pop another motor into the freshly painted one and leave the newbie alone..As Poodles said, gotta keep the clean ones alive! As for the bodywork and such, top notch man! With some light or dark gunmetal wheels + polished lip and a nice front spoiler you will have one hell of a sharp...
