It would be very difficult to do this with the gauges angled because they would hit the lexan cover. The only way to angle them would be to sink them further into the cluster more, which would be very hard to do because it would cause mounting depth issues on the back. The oil temp and the oil...

The factory gauge lexan cover is in place! I actually polished it out with 3M lexan polish so it's REALLY clear and non-reflective.

The thread asked about why someone decided on a swap... I simply posted that given the chance to do things again, I would have swapped a 2JZ instead of a 1JZ. I'm not knocking any of the 3 motors, they are ALL good for various reasons.

I have done it two different ways. One way is just as you describe. drop the tranny x-member and let the tranny rock the motor back. You can hit the top two bolts with long extensions and flex joints. The other way that I've been able to do it, and I actually find it easier, is to do this...
