Ok then I guess I won't need it. I will work with what I have and see what the dyno says. Also I have an AEM FI/C 8 and see that everyone is saying not to use it. I guess my question is has anyone been successful with it on a 1JZ? Horsepowerfreaks sell it for the 1JZ so I figured it would...
To be honest I have no idea what running wasted spark is. I am running this because I was told the 1JZ ignition system is only good for around 500hp and my plans are to hit 600hp if not more. I have the supporting mods except for a standalone which I will be buying here in the next couple of...
I was wondering since it's just a 4 channel will the Twin Fire still work? I noticed it had install instructions for the 2JZ with 4 channel, but it says install with AEM EMS also.
So im going to attempt to install an AEM Twin Fire on my 87 Supra. I have looked everywhere for a write up on this install and the only thing I have found was the actual install manual. It shows an intall for the USDM 2JZ I was wondering if it is actually the same as the 1JZ? If not any help...
Check the three wires near the intake. I think they are red, black and yellow. the plug that clips into the back of the alt has the same color wires. I had the same problem with mine, even though its a 1JZ swap. I bought a new alt, fuses, and re-wired the main post. It ended up being the...
Well gentlemen I just figured it out. It was the three pin connector, I unwrapped the wires and found there was a broken wire. Thanks for all the help!
I'm not sure what vehicle the 1JZ came out of. Does anyone happen to know what each wire on the back of the ALT do? I was thinking about just re-wiring it. I don't really want to tear the harness apart so I was just going to make my own.
Well just got the ALT checked out and it's good. So it's somewhere in the wiring. I have a three wire plug up near the fuse box that has a white, yellow, and black with yellow stripe setup. The only problem is the yellow wire is not hooked up. Could the yellow wire be the one that needs to...
I checked it out and there is a black wire coming from the post on top of the alternator to the fuse box. The cut black wire is a second black wire that is coming off of the same side of the fuse. Its hard to see in the picture, but there is 2 wires there. I am going to just run that cut line...
Well checked the all the fuses in the drivers side kick panel and all of them are good. As for the black wire there is one going to the battery and the one that is cut. I took a multimeter and tested all the different points of contact and they all showed the same voltage as the battery. I...
Found a yellow wire near the fuse box that is not connected to anything. It looks like it goes into a 3 pin connector with a white wire, a black wire and the yellow one. Any clues?
Yeah I knew it was the wire that came off of the ALT 100 AMP fuse, but I have know idea were it goes. I have looked all around and can't seem to find were it could have broken off from.
I'm not sure I will get some pics, I also found a black/with blue stripe wire down by the starter dissconnected. Not sure if it was like that or not, but it looks like the guy who wired it before me ran a red wire down to the starter. Doesn't look factory either. Is it possible that wire...
Here is a pic of a wire I found that look broken. Not sure were it goes though. It is hooked to the 100 AMP fuse and looks only long enough to hook back into the fuse block, the color of the wire is black and is spliced into the end that hooks to the fuse. Any idea were it goes?
Ok guys I have an 87 Supra with a 1JZ swap and a single turbo. I had a starting problem and decided to take the intake off to clean it and inspect it. I didn't get too far until I found out you have to disconnect about 75% of the harness. So I put it back together and just changed the plugs...
Well maybe not loving it all the way. I picked up a 1987 NA Supra that had a full 1JZ swap done to it. Problem is it kept breaking up really bad at around 5000 rpms when load was put on it. I have searched everywhere and even replaced a few things, but still no luck. I am currently doing the...
