If your mech can bench test the starter then you will know if its good or bad. it sounds like an electrical problem and its most likely the ignition switch. they tend to work intermitently and soon they will leave you for death in a parking lot somewhere. It definately would be a problem if your o2 sensor was not working but did you get the car tested with a trouble code in the cpu? Also the shop that tests your emissions would probably clear the code if you asked them to before the test right?

Can anyone recomend a good machien shop to resurface the head and engine deck on my 7mgte. I bought the car with a blown head gasket and im looking forward to quality work with a shop that uses quality parts. Im in the hartford area.

Most head gaskets are good but you should be sure the head and deck surface of the block are completly flat or the head gasket will blow again. The est thing to do wold be to get a good machien shop to overhaul the entire block and have them put the bearings in for you.

IDK how the courts are there but here in connecticut a lot of people that have a first time offense seem to (without the speed being to harsh) get away with a much smaller fine. If the offense was all that bad the cop would have arrested you on the spot and had your car towed. Good luck.

Make sure the strap is clean with some sand paper and sand the body good where you mount it. Thre years of sitting will collect a lot of corosion. the cleaner the ground the brighter the lights will be.
