Ha. I hoped since several people on this thread were planning on going to Suprasport, someone up there would know if the shop was behind schedule due to the weather. Drive to Texas sometime to see what it's like to have more than one kind of weather in the same state ;) I'll continue the...
Not sure where else to post this, but I ordered a piece from Suprasport awhile ago and am having trouble getting in touch with them. Any info you guys have? Jack has always been very helpful and prompt with replies, so I'm a little worried. I see some weather issues up your way; I wonder if...
For anyone still reading this thread, it was the release hub, exactly as mentioned above. The only part I had not already replaced.:3d_frown: Thanks for the help
I'll be taking it to my garage tomorrow to yank the tranny out. I'll be double checking the installation. I fear I may have just suffered your same problem. I need the car back on the road by Thursday, so if the Toyota throw out bearing will work, in it goes. I forgot to mention that the car...
For the last week, I have been hearing a "click" when pressing the clutch pedal. Regardless of gear selection, vehicle speed, or engine rpm, the noise occurs halfway down the clutch pedal travel. The click never happens on release. Today, the throw out bearing grenaded.
I have a...
well...
good news and bad news.
good news is I won't be getting a bus pass.
bad news is I won't be getting a bus pass because I probably would try getting one at an airport bar.
After ripping my hair out trying everything but the obvious, she's a runnin' strong. I pulled the CPS...
Cylinder 1 TDC (compression stroke); pulled #1 spark plug, inserted length of rubber hose to feel compression, used video bore scope to inspect vertical movement of piston, verified with crank pulley mark at 0.
Timing mark alignment; removed upper timing belt cover, verified marks on camshaft...
Yes, I'm sorry, I wasn't clear. when attempting to set the timing, I had those terminals jumped. I had a friend in the car trying to hold the idle manually, while I tried to set timing. It seemed if I had been able to turn the CPS another 90 degrees (+/-) beyond the flange limit, it would...
Ok, here are the codes and my theory for their presence:
code 14: Ignition coils unplugged while testing compression.
code 51: TPS unplugged while checking ISC valve operation.
I rechecked the connectors just now, all contacts ok.
I already rechecked timing belt alignment just before reinstalling the CPS (at cylinder 1 TDC.) I did not, however, check for MIL codes. I will post my findings in a moment.
I am finishing a build on an '89 turbo. I managed to get the car running, though not well: it would not idle, and would run quite lean under throttle. Upon trying to adjust ignition timing, I discovered the CPS range of motion would not allow anywhere near proper ignition timing. I checked...
