Home-Made Auto Filler:
Here's a filling tip I learned for filling holes that are tough to get to. I used it for filling my manual transmission and rear axle. This only works if you have an air compressor. Take the cap of the fluid you need to fill and drill two 3/8" holes in the top of the...
UPDATE...I just drove my car again. I really like the glow of the buttons. They are a soft glow and nothing too bright. I can see all of the icons except for the LOW, MED and HI buttons for the fan. I may try to use black tape on an icon to see if I like it better. What I'll try is cutting...
To add to the 2 revolutions...it is possible to line up all the dots and be 180 degrees out. At that point it won't start till you figure out what you did wrong. Maybe someone can tell how to be sure when things are being marked before removal?
I would think you would have to use paint. I think the summer heat would bake off the tape. You could cover the icons with cut outs, paint the buttons and then pull off the tape before the paint dries. There are paints specifically made for painting plastics. I did a speedo bezel flat black...
I'm unsure if anyone else has ever tried this so I thought I would post what I did. My 1988 climate control buttons were peeling. I took a razor blade, exacto knife and tweezers and stripped them all. The few that weren't pealing were a pain to do. In their case I cut on the side of the...
I did do a search for archives on "Camry AFM" and a bunch came up, but nothing I saw that helped. After I wrote my post above this I searched for "Camry Air Flow Meter" and wouldn't you know I found a Thread that talks about an RX-7 AFM working, but the thread just stops without an exact...
Sorry! I thought they were different enough to seperate them, but you're correct.
I went to the junk yard today and only had time to hit a few. I have a question about Air Flow Meters in Toyota's. The lat 80's Camry V6 Air Flow Meter looks identical to the supra, but has a different...
I opened up the AFM and found some solder on the pin connections to the board loose. I played around with stuff and got my car to run, but something in there is still messed up.
Suprarx7nut-Thanks for offering to go get me a AFM!!! I'm off now to check my yards and will let you know what...
I bent the connector tabs to be sure they make a good connection and that didn't help. Everything points to it being a bad AFM. If it's bad then I figure my opening it up to clean won't make atters worse.
I've spent hours looking around the internet and have found nothing. Someone on this site referred to cleaning the Air Flow Meter as a last ditch effort to try to fix it. I found info on a mirror in it and not to use chemicals while cleaning it, but nothing about tips on trying to save one...
What I was really wondering is there a way to get in there and see if I un hooked something when I unscrewed the connection. I see there is silicon sealing to cover. Has anyone ever removed that to gain access? I assume that's the only way to the air temperature sensor?
Hi All! I have a N/A 1988 supra. The only mod I have is the HKS mushroom intake. It was deteriorating so I bought a different cone filter. When removing my air flow meter I wasn't thinking (due to lack of sleep from an accident) and instead of removing the clip for the air flow meter plug I...
