thanks for all the replies...this is my daily driver, so I can't have it down for too long..I remember putting the sealer around the oil pan was a PITA..close to 35 bolts or something crazy like that...after putting a new motor in and then having to replace the headgasket...I really don't feel...
any easy solutions to shelling out $400.00 to Toyota to replace the oil pan gasket? I have spent almost $6k getting my 87 NA to reliable condition, but I still have no A/C, a non-working passanger window, a leaking P/S pump, and a Transmission that is acting up...I am really getting tired of...
Rims I got at a local vendor...back when my car was blue...I planned to go black, so I bought them to replace the silver 8 spoke rims the car came with. Then I had to listen to everyone say how stupid black rims looked on a blue car...lol
I have the sogi short shifter mod on my 87 NA, but I never used the "green Bushing." what are the advantages/disadvantages to using the bushing? and does any one have a picture of the bushing? I have no clue what it even looks like.
I too have the leaking trunk/taillights. In fact, the spare tire well has rusted out, so I would be very cautious about allowing the water to run through it. Silicon sealent and sheet metal have fixed 95% of the problem, but the lightbulbs in the tail light will blow out every time I drive in...
my 2nd car is a 2000 GT-S and there's something about the layout of the cockpit that feels natural. The suspention and feel of the interior make it quite easy for "the Zone" to be found, at least that is my experience :biglaugh:
my compressor has bit the big one-I need a/c, I live in west palm beach florida, and only the driver side window rolls down. it's starting to suck. SO actually I need a a/c compressor and a passanger side window motor. Anyone local that can help me? I am a cheapskate and Don;t want to shell out...
I forgot to mention the 50million parts from other supras, plus the mitsubishi TPS, and the JDM motor I think came from a soarer...darn different oilpan!
I just keep adding to my list of parts from other cars that I have on my supra. Today I picked up 2 perfect condition Hood Struts from a Cressida, a new style Toyota emblem from a Tercel, and a Steering Wheel from a Paseo, all from the local junk yard! Anyone else find good parts from other cars?
thanks for all the nice comments. PunaMkIII-would I have to go to a body shop for the car clearcoat? I would like the wet/shiney look that the clear-coat-in-a-can cannot provide.
I used VHT Nightshade on the tail lights, turn signals, side markers, and foglamps. You spray it on like spray paint, then hit it with some clearcoat to make it all nice and shiney-like :yumyum:
