I will second this recommendation. My '88 started off with just pulling a little to the right when the caliper was sticking a bit. As it worsened, it caused a bit of a wobble. I couldn't figure it out until I got her home and smelled the hot brakes on the passenger side while the driver's...
I was over my friend's garage today (the guy that introduced me to Mk3 Supras) and he had a 7M lying around and showed me the rear main engine seal is a few bolts after removing the flywheel. That has been put on the list. It's kind of sweet that you mentioned it as I was over there being told...
Already done! The Driftmotion stainless line was a great upgrade while I was replacing the master and slave cylinders. That was about four months ago, so I don't think the fresh fluid needs replacing, but I will check it while I'm at it. Thanks.
Excellent, I'll be certain to triple check the throwout assembly when the job is underway. After a quick look, I think the price of new washers and snap rings is worth it to maybe save a headache down the road. Thank you, Poodles!
Good evening,
In the coming week(s) I'm going to be replacing the stock clutch in the Supra with a new one. Since getting her back on the road I have noticed some slipping in third gear right as boost is building. I've checked out a lot of threads and think I've got most of it covered, but...
They are really close. If memory serves the MK4 mats are a tad wider than the MK3 and have the grommet on the driver's side so it doesn't slide around. But they should work really well.
Found a thread in the GB section where someone was making custom mats for us...
It happens to my Supra whenever the wheel is fully cut either direction while traveling slowly. If the wheel is kept fully cut (while moving) it will make the click and not just the clunk. The resolution seems to be the steering bump stops. Here's a thread I found from March 2008 when I was...
I love the sides and headrests, and the fronts are pretty nice. I would love to see the rear seats done in your style. The doors look great.
Nicely done. :)
I wanted to stick with the factory black and have not regretted it. Thanks for the compliments on the seats, I spent days looking over different styles and ultimately came to the conclusion of black with tan inserts. The seat covers are from Katzkin and were installed by a local great...
I don't know the history of the tan interior. All I know is my '88 came with one, ripped to shreds. I have a '96 Dodge Stealth with an all tan interior -- it takes a good deal of maintenance to keep up with it. So, that's one reason I went a different route with my Supra's seats. The restoration...
If memory serves there are 4-8 metal tabs that are bent around the backside of that rear panel, keeping it in place. Take off the panel, unbend the tabs, and it slides out.
Window cleaner and a razor blade are your best bet. Sometimes it comes off on a single nice sheet, others inch by inch.. Take your time, use lots of window cleaner (ammonia was mentioned earlier, works very well too), and it's not too bad of a chore.
From practice I've grown to like shifting at 3000rpm from first to second for general driving. There doesn't seem to be much, if any, bogging when shifting around there. When accelerating faster, 4500rpm is my choice, though shifting there is not as smooth as I'd like it to be. It takes time and...
Bananas work pretty well for cleaning CDs and DVDs.
As for the tail lights, I've just used standard buffing compound with an orbital buffer (lightly) followed by a buff wax and then hand wax.. It worked particularly well on my Stealth's lexan headlights, keeping the shine for a month or...
I'm curious as to how rare these bars are? I've been searching for one since picking up my mk3 mainly because it's a spring/summer car and will be topless most of the time. With a quick google search I found two places that claim to have them, the price ranging from $295-$315. Going to give them...
