hey so i am looking at a short block, that is still in the toyota crate.. i was just wondering how long a motor has to sit for the rings to rust to the cylinder walls. and if this is a stupid question i am sorry...

how likely is it that i washed out my rod bearings and scored the rods when blowing my head gasket? i pulled the valve covers and have tons of milky sludge on my cams and head. also i have what looks like rust deposits on the lobes of my cams....
