My 88 has a full 3 inch exhaust all the way through a turbo muffler. To quiet the exhaust should I add a resonator or change the muffler? Please recommend what type of resonator or muffler you would suggest I put on.
I put together a "basket case" 88 turbo. The car now runs and looks great, but it takes a long time to start when it is cold. I think that maybe I didn't get the sensor wire hooked up correctly. I am assuming that the sensor is one of many that are located on the gooseneck which contains the...
I am having some trouble dealing with this guy: foxmoor7 is his ebay username and his email username is Turbodawg087. Has anyone had any experiences that they can share with me to help me understand where he is coming from? Thanx alot
I have a block that has been cleaned, honed, and painted that I am planning to sell. It does have one or two spots that are slightly pitted. They are barely discernable with the fingernail. I am willing to crate it and ship it if someone can use it. I also have a rebuildable head with cams...
I can't seem to get to the cable at the back of the speedo. Can't feel it or see it. maybe my hands are too big. Is it best to pull the panel out from the front in order to get to it? I have an 88 turbo
It doesn't work at all. I can't find anything in my lousey Hanes manual about the speedometer. Does anyone have an idea as to where to start looking for the problem. Is it a cable type or wire?
I can't find an owner's manual. I do have a light knocking that starts at about 3k rpms when I rev it in park. I hope it isn't rod knock..... What grade of fuel is recommended?
I have this small (maybe 1/4 inch or less inner diameter) hose that I can't see where it goes. It comes off the bottom of the large rubber connector that connects to the front of the turbo. I guess it brings in the fresh air from the air cleaner. The rubber connector is sort of an s shape and...
I am getting very close to having this "basket case" together. It has sat since 99! Anyway, I have two leads with blade type connectors that go on sensors. One has a green wire with a red stripe, and one has a yellow wire with a green stripe. I am not sure which one goes to the sending unit...
I am not sure but think this is some kind of valve (blow off valve?) operated by vacuum maybe? My bigger concern is where it leads to. I traced the hose across the engine and down between the head and intake. It hangs down below the intake but I am not seeing where to hook the hose to. Thanx
I am wondering about the disc (2pics) I found just laying in the engine compartment near the driver's side. It has a rubber diaphram and some oily/carbon coating and is about 1 1/2" in Dia. There is a slight possibility that it is from another car. I also included another pic that shows not...
I am thinking that I may need to pull the plenum to figure out some of these but thought I might get help here also. One of my arms is in a sling from an op this am and Doc says take it real easy on it so will try these pics. 88 turbo "basket case" I am figuring out the puzzle! Can't find...
Can't seem to figure out where this hose goes to. It is near the center of the intake plenum. It goes down and turns and seems to connect to tubing that goes toward the rear of the engine. It is not the fuel return hose but is about the same size (about 3/16" or 1/4" ID).
I can't figure out where a hose goes to. It is just below the center of the intake plenum and seems to connect to tubing that goes behind the engine. It is not the fuel return hose but seems to be about the same size.
I am putting together a basket case -88 turbo-and it is a big puzzle. The only thing that I can't figure out on the passenger side is a white wire (with an insulating sleeve around it) and a connector on the end-the kind that goes on a blade type sensor- which has this large (maybe 1 3/4" dia)...
