The 1JZ soarer engine in the Supra has a really high idle (about 3K or more) when it is first started. Once it warms up, it idles just fine. I can't seem to find out how to adjust the cold idle setting. Any experience here?

On the soarer 1JZ, there is a sensor right below the intake manifold, that has two vacuum lines going into it, and an electrical connector attached to it. On any drawings for vacuum hoses, it is signified as part 17650E. Any idea what it is for? My son broke off one of the plastic hose...

So... can the 2JZ head gasket be used on a 1JZ? It seems the OEM style head gasket and Head gasket sets are very hard to come by for the 1JZ right now.(Tsunami related?) Thanks

Just finished putting a 1JZ (soarer) in a 91 Supra. Needed to run the thicker wire to the solenoid and now it turns over great (didn't before). It pops and sounds like it wants to start, but will only go for a few revolutions. I keep trying things, but no luck yet. Anybody have any experience...

On the pictures of other stock 1JZ motors, the blowoff valve has a small cannister and hosing that seems to be for recirculation. It is missing on my engine. Any idea exactly what it does, and can I get by with some work around?

I am trying to hook up the power brake booster vacuum line from my 91 MKIII to the Soarer 1JZ-GTE. The connection is supposed to be on the end of the intake plenum (from the few pictures I could find), but it is not there on this engine. Is there anywhere else to pull the vacuum for the booster?

The wiring information out there seems to be different from what I am running into. A little different on the MKIII side, but a lot different on the 1JZ side. Anyone got some detailed info. that would help?

I am looking to install a Soarer 1JZ-GTE into a 91 Mark III Supra. The old NA engine is out and we should have the new one in this week. Wiring looks to be a challenge, to say the least. Anyone know what's involved here?
