Is there a way to identify a 7m turbo block from a non turbo? I mean if you were to go look at a car and it has the turbo and all how can you tell if it is a turbo engine and not a na engine with a turbo on it?

I have a HKS air filter and a 3in exhaust with no cat with the stock fuel pump. My question is, how high can the boost be turned up safely? i do have a metal headgasket also. Any thoughts? i would like to turn the boost up a little but still want to be safe about it.
