I checked them too (the ones that would be above the driver's side motor mount, right?).
I checked for any loose wires, cleaned out the ISC/diaphram (have some intermittent idle issues), replaced the front VSV (heatsoak issue), and then doublechecked the connections again.
I did find that...
Anyone else find a fix for this? I did the once/twice-over last nite and found nothing wrong. Today, the light doesn't come on as often. I'm thinking I may have tinkered with some wiring enough to make it less often, but I'd still like to fix it for sure. Ideas!?!?!?
I get 'em while just idling. Exhaust is 3" with a hi-flow cat....
A friend had a similar issue with his N/A and it turned out to be a leak at the gasket for the EGR... we changed it out and no more pops while in idle. I am going to check mine out, when I go to install the FFIM I have...
Just today, I started getting the CEL coming on, whenever I come to a stop. Checked for codes, got a Code 11, and immediately checked the grounds that I could see in the engine bay.
Anyways, they all looked okay ('cept I forgot to check the 3 or 4 grounds that come into 1 connector near the...
Right! I saw this on the igniter bracket of my 2JZ-deal... I did not even think we had 'em on the MKIIIs. I'll have to dig for it and see if it fits the same.... tho I don't have any of that whine-noise going on.
I haven't rvcd the rebuild kits yet, but we bled the hell out of my brakes today.
The only difference, compared to the 10 other times, was that I left the Sup in the driveway. The nose was down at a slant. I think that forced most of the air up towards the bleeders on the calipers...
Satan's and I are in the process of making our fiberglass enclosures. We are each gonna use 2x8" subs (500w low-profile Pyles) and she will use the space for the stock sub in her MKIV. I am still looking for examples/ideas.... not too wild, keeping as much useable space as possible.
Anyone...
Nothing's wet, no visible leaks, and the fluid remains the same level.
Yeah, that's why I didn't worry about the calipers before... I knew what I saw wasn't for the fluid. Just out of ideas at this point.
I recently replaced the Master Cylinder too ;-) Kinda running out of brake system stuff to fix, that hasn't already been replaced.
One of the grommets that the fluid reservoir sits on, was blowing bubbles. I replaced the master cylinder and hoped that's all it was, but there's still more...
Yep, I have SS lines (and the old ones as backups;-).
I did find a small rip in one of the seals that go around one of the caliper's pistons, but I can't remember which one. So, I figured I'd get the rebuild kits (less than $20 for all of 'em), rebuild each caliper, and re-bleed the...
Hey guys,
Well... After bleeding my brakes a kajillion times, I still have the spongy brake feel.
So, I remembered that one of my seals in one of my calipers was not looking so hot. Probably not the issue, but it's probably time to rebuild my claipers and get rid of the rotting rubber in...
I have 3 pre-89 climate controls that I can donate to someone who wants to experiment some more, and provide us some more detailed write-ups. I have ordered some blue LEDs and am lining things up to do my 89+ CC and the fiance's CC in her MKIV.... I've got to get both of these right, the 1st...
True! I used the hi-temp stuff and it has an "elastic" quality that allows you to tightly bundle/wrap, without stretching the tape out of shape. Awesome stuff... I used about 1.5 rolls on one of my harnesses.
Also... FWIW, I plan to wrap the section that runs along the fuel rail with something sturdy... like heater hose. I have had the harness make contact with the plenum there and melt a few wires, in the past. I've done a better job hanging the harness in there, but it's one of those problem areas.
...more tips: Assume U know the other work involved... like removing belts, setting to TDC, etc...
1. Remove A/C compressor w/brackets & lines attached... Use a wire hanger, or whatever, to hold the compressor up and out of the way (without having to release freon).
2. U don't have to...
