so, i might be gettin some free 89+ tails :biglaugh:
i'm thinkin of tintin them a little because i got a full can of that vht shit and then gettin em professionally cleared.
so anyway, my question is:
is there any way to take my molding off my 88 center piece and somehow attach it to this...
yeah i got the same radar detector. heh, it was like the 3rd thing i got when i started driving my supra.
thing is, as good as it's reviewed to be, and as good as it probably is, i just dont trust it. hell if i had one of them valentine systems, i wouldn't even trust it.
heh, i drive slow...
hey, theres no rtv or anything needed between the head and the rear timing cover plate right? seems like a silly question, i just thought i remember reading something about it, thats all.
florida right? thanks. i probably would for the time being and i'd love to take a trip down to florida, but its not happening right now.
so i decided that i'll buy the w58 my friend will sellin me, rebuilt it and then get the rest of the parts needed. for the time being i'll limp around with...
will i have to get a new pressure plate? i'd be using a new oem clutch..
i think im gonna go for this w58. i've been doing some reading around here and i think i'll get the w58 and rebuilt it with the mdc kit. i'll probably get all those other shits needed from the swap from the same car. my...
yep, thats what i was gonna do, assembly lube on the journals and lobes and our oil all over. you think i should use moly lube for the journals? i have a nice chunk left over
theres a NA supra sitting in my friends junkyard. would i be able to get all the parts minus that tranny from that thing?
would getting a w58 be a bad idea? im not puttin down crazy horsepower so i dont think i'd break it with too much power. are the ratios the same?
thanks,
yeah im paranoid, but its not after that. it just been so long (well not that long compared to some of you here), that i'm afraid somethings gonna go horribly wrong and all this work and money is gonna mean nothing. i just keep goin over my mental checklist every 10 minutes that i've...
yeah i read the tsrm torque pattern, i think i get it now. so when i have the cams torqued and i want to move them into the straight up position, wont it be pretty hard to overcome the spring tension by hand? they're not gonna snap back at me with the spring pressure are they?
okay, right if the gear index should be lined up with the backing plate index as i was gonna do, why does the tsrm tell you to set them up slantwise?
and what about that catch can question.
and also, what should i replace my valve cover bolts with? i remember reading a good suggestion...
putting the 2 responses together, it looks like the bolt goes to the oil line from the block to the turbo as shown in picture one.
about these cams, why am i mounting them slantwise like picture 2? is it gonna line up when i put the timing belt on?
and what oil should i use? i've been using...
yeah so about that cam question. anyone?
also what is this? i got 2 on the fuel rail, 1 on the rear top of the intake manifold, 1 for the cold start injector...what am i missing?
and what does this plug go to, it fell off my harness. where it attached to is the other picture.
by the way...
