^^^ nothing, except if he's giving info that might be related to another issue. temp gauge moving up and down is NOT normal, hence another issue how ever small or large it may be
id imagine it could be done but then youd need to cut the metal joint off the end thats on the car as well... imho id by a new hanger for the fuel pump
search what ever your issues are. some where in the last few years almost everything has been broken fixed and tested in some form or another on these cars. takes some digging but you will find it.
lets see some pics!
jj i have a word doc of a few of your old posts to others (dating back to 2005 or so haha) that i followed earlier. FINALLY read the hz and got .018khz or 18hz at idle warmed up at 650rpms. PERFECT as it seems. wish i had a scope to learn further and to tinker with but at this time i dont...
VC is in the 156k range in resistance. whats high? i have the bible (shop manual) but it shows nothing what so ever on how to test the actual karman signal, only how to test the temp sensor....
edit: found the basic test at the ecu harness end with it plugged into the ecu. is there some...
good news time to check this ones hz then.
i feel like i need to stock pile afm's 20 years old these things arent the greatest out of a junk yard then.... maftpro- or new afm....hmmm;)
now that said, i feel they are gona be plug and play if im buying used. ive read how jj says to bench...
hey JJ im on my second afm in a week. wires are all good from ecu to connector
can the ecu fry them? is there any way to figure out if the ecu is the culprit other then trying a new ecu?

that it? looks like coolant through the TB or vacuum for the egr/ charcoal canister maybe?
ouch, im about to pull the front main seal ( small leak) and PRAY i dont find this. good thing i lend a hand at the top fuel hydro shop near by, talk about knowledge and extreme capabilities.... post up what you end up doing....
never got to that point, was actually on my way to home depot when the car decided it didnt want to run any more
after checking the harness and connectors ( all good from ecu to afm connector) and the bit of info i added above about the open circuit on the KS pin, afm is shot, wont start...
found my error, good to know the air temp sensor works properly ;)
now for the afm, i think she's measured her last bit of air. need to double check the wiring from ecu to connector to make sure no wires are broken.
E1-VC: 156,000 ohms
E1-KS: open circuit
should there be some resistance...
dont know how to check the injectors other then pulling them and getting them cleaned and flow tested.
ill check the afm hz by the manual, but im not getting any stalling issues, or codes that i thought would signify an afm electronic issue.
and on the gauge, its vented when i read it so it...
J tube bypassed or drilled out?
Bypassed
Walbro fuel pump... how is it hooked up? To the stock wiring, or rewired? Has the 12v fuel pump mod been done?
no 12v mod, stock wiring hooked to wires on the pump cage in tank. HP version as well
How's the idle - rpm, smooth / rough...
car is in the sig. compression was a perfect 150 across the board with 2 at 155. plugs 3330 (1 step colder) gapped at .28 vac is perfect and boost is rock solid at 14 psi (wastegate) so motor is in good woring order...
afm screw is about half way out,
no vac car on: 47 psi
vac on car on...
only one win ( or race for that matter so far)
cruising the highway doing 60mph and i see lights weaving in and out of traffic behind me. One of the new gti golfs or whatever they are blows by. traffic causes him to slow and i slowly catch up not expecting anything. im in the far left and he...
doh, i was thinking a massive loss of coolant causing an overheat.
you might consider testing the rad cap, then pressure testing the system, if its leaking externally, it will show.
and how often is the system flushed? is it getting hot at idle and in stop and go traffic or on the...
