Was wondering if anyone knows. Are the pistons flush with the deck at TDC ? I had the block decked and pistons are up .018". I told the guy to machine just enough to clean up. Deck wasnt that bad to remove .018". I assume flush. Just want to be sure so I can order correct headgasket. Thanks Rich

Now your camshaft journals are not in plane or consistant. When you bolt the cams in, they are going to bind. Head should have been replaced. Just a thought. Rich

Mine did similar thing when I first built my car. I was running a stock BOV at the time which was leaking. New BOV corrected the problem. IC piping leaks or vacuum leaks will also do the same. More than likely its one of these things. Check BOV first, stockers are worthless.:icon_conf...

Still running GE pistons? The higher boost you run, the higher the compression ratio results in. So starting out with a higher compression will be a factor. Just make sure there is enough fuel there. Have fun and Black MKIII's are the BEST!!!!:icon_conf

Finally, a statement made with some type of proof. More than likely its the intake. Could be your friends IC piping (3 inch might be hurting some if using stock ct-26) making the difference. Just a thought. What turbo's are you guys running? What rpms was each of your hp numbers? Nice car!

Theres a guy up here with an 2004 evo 6 spd. He got tired of people talking trash about it. He dumped around 10 grand in motor. Tube manifold, external wastegate, big turbo, injectors, etc. Heard it was pushing over 450 hp at wheels. Not sure, I know some guys say its faaast! Later gents
