Leak from inspection means dropping tranny to fix... bummer. Though my rear main was probably leaking for quite some time before I got the car. I'd suggest Harbor freight if you need a tranny jack. (makes things infinitely easier when putting it back on ;))

On mine, I can actually feel and hear a difference once it kicks in. If I'm flooring it in 2ng gear i can feel a little bump of energy right at ~4200 rpm. I can't feel it in first or 3rd, but almost always 2nd.
