I agree with the cheapness, but the above appears to be caused by some one running a quite heavy Holset hx35 or hx40.... WITH OUT ANY SUPPORT once so ever. Also, when the tubes don't fit, alot of welders or robots play "gas station" and fill up the welds with tons of rod. Not good...

Search.. Second, from what the masses say - don't waste your time. The welds crack, they aren't 100% welded, and the flanges are warped. Port out the stock one and enjoy.

Well so far, 29 days and counting, 800+ miles, no smoke, boost @ 16psi.

The only guys I have ever heard of doing the actual up grade is Majestic or PT turbos. Other than that, if you have a local machine shop, YOU CAN rebuild it on your own. http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3934&highlight=rebuild

Radial or axial play is a bad thing. I've seen some horrible sloppy ct's run for ever. Bolt it on and take it for a whirl. If it smokes, then you know its bad.

Any one have any links to these porterfield pads? Also, has any one tried the EBC green stuff or Hawk pads? Im looking for a pad that actually squeels (carbon) and has good "initial bite" and won't fade away under heavy braking.

The trick that I performed when the engine was built was to: -REmove the stock oil relief spring in the oil pump, and measure the lbs of force. I found that a stock spring from a Small Block chevy 350 engine is about 5lbs more, and yeilds 40psi @ 3000rpm with 10w30.

You will most likely need to redo the puck system like the 2jz head IIRC... The 2jz uses a puck UNDER the bucket, not on top like the 7m.

Um no. Any who, on with the turbo kit... I've seen those kits go for above $500. As stated, I have heard.... The turbos blow smoke as they are rejects from the factory... The IC's tend to burst under high boost because of cheap welds... The flanges on the headers are warped...

Great idea if you are stuck some where in the middle of no where, but not the ideal High Frequency setup you want to TIG weld with. Not for quality and safety purposes at least.
