DON'T DO THAT!
Install a 7.5 amp fuse inline, and bridge it to test or you can melt the board on the gauges!
The stock dimmer has a failsafe that burns it out when that happens. It's approximately 7.5amps if i remember right.
My turbo's and 2JZGE were all dead on what the sticker on the hood says.
Your EGR has something wrong.
