1jz idling issue and running rich

Still having a hard time understanding how the plug choice will affect how much fuel the engine is fed considering the sensor that tells the injectors how much to spit in is before the plug... Oh, and never trust a "pre-gapped" plug. I've seen them range by as much as 0.010" between the same...

Thanks for the clarification guys, I think I understand now. :)

    The UGLY Supra Thread...

I'm still torn, used to love it, but something about them just strikes me as odd about them. Not saying they look bad, and I would love to see what they would do to something mid-engined, but I don't know if it really suits the Supra. Was just about to point that out, that it isn't quite so...

    7MGTE fan clutch

From what I gathered from the wall of text, it seems to not account for volume. If you can't get much heat out because of the flow speed through the heat exchanger, you can get more heat out by increasing how much air gets through it. Hence, high speed fans work well in our case. May not get...

Electronic speedometer in the stock cluster, can it be done?

Sounds like you figured out your answer already. I gotta ask though, why (more "how", really) is your speedometer causing your car to idle low and stall? I haven't had a working speedometer in two years now, and can't say I've ever had this problem.

    collision question.......

I guess that could be one bright side. One would assume from reading this that not having insurance is a serious offense that is not worth the risk of not paying such high insurance rates? That would probably keep more poor drivers off the road I guess... Hmm. I'm kinda torn. I would gladly pay...

    Antenna Wire Location...

I envy those of you with radio worth listening to. Haven't had that in nearly 5 years now since I moved to Wyoming. :nono:

Finally hurt my 7m at over 700 whp.

Should go with a WHATJZ swap. Seriously man, for a stock bottom end, you've proved that it is more in the tune than the parts if you have a good engine to start with. I figured this was a one time thing, but if you've been using and abusing it all these years... well done!

Widebody: S2 front fenders and Kaze Aerocraft rear fenders (Shineautoproject Replica)

I was planning on running a 17x10.5 (11" originally I seem to remember...), and came up with an ideal offset being around +25 on the fronts. Then again, I like my wheels tucked in enough. I do NOT want to be rubbing on my fenders, all things considered. I don't think CF fenders and tires at...

Which mk3's have brake ducting for cooling?

Could always use an approach like this if you're willing to spend the time: http://www.flyinmiata.com/index.php?deptid=4539&parentid=14&stocknumber=14-76300

    MKIII Body kits

Well, it has "The Bling Garage" in the windshield header, that might be a place to start with. No idea, kinda reminds me of how the FR-S/BRZ bumper is shaped. Not sure it really suits the Mk3, but that looks like it might provide functional downforce as sharp as those angles are on the sides of...

    Crashed The MK3 Today

This is probably the best advice in the thread so far. Sorry to hear about your accident, too many "operators" on the road rather than "drivers". Then again, if they were a Driver, they probably wouldn't be in a Kia. :nono: My only experience with accidents on our cars, is that little things...

    door lock linkage jammed

Had a cop open the door to my mom's old car when my little brother (very young at the time) somehow tripped the power locks and locked himself in the car with the car running... Not sure how hard it is to get into a Supra like this, but a locksmith should know. ;) EDIT: Have you tried the...

    ::salute:: I Remember 9/11/01 ::salute::

Yeah, I know... seems like that line of "those who choose to forget history are doomed to repeat it" really kicked in that day. Just makes me wonder what Pakistanis or Afghans that we will be dealing with as "insurgents" in another couple decades since we "freed" them of the tyranny of the...

Not being a rider, but having a basic understanding of the physics involved, would that be to help most people keep the bike from dumping them off the back when they get a bit overconfident and twist the throttle too much?

1jz idling issue and running rich

I've always run copper plugs in the Supras and just change them every year or so. They may not have the most stable idle, but they run good where it counts.

1JZ-GTE Throttle Lift car starts bucking

That is what I gathered... although my 1j rarely backfires, no matter how hard I get on it. Certainly doesn't buck when getting off the throttle. Perhaps his carrier bearing has gone bad?

    The UGLY Supra Thread...

Well fuck me in the beard... looks an awful lot like that awful Abflug kit. Also, I see what you didn't want us to there. ;) Honestly, it is cheaper to make a Mk4 look good than to make it look bad. Just leave it close enough to stock and you keep it looking good. I can't honestly say that I've...

    collision question.......

Wait... so you can't have anything other than basic collision unless you meet their "requirements" with ICBC? So in other words you would be screwed if you bought a newer car at a young age, and got hit by someone who didn't have insurance. If I follow along properly, man you guys have some...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Basically what I'm doing. Would be done by now, but I bought a house, so that obviously eats a lot of the budget. The car is happy to be indoors though. Anyway, looking forward to seeing the end result (if there is an "end" to a Supra build/restoration), keep it up. :) Did you use the...
