my mechanic said that he wasnt going to pull the motor. just pull the heads off. i was wondering how he was going to replace the rings,but figured that he knew what he was talking about.

would it be smart to go ahead and replace oil pump since the oil pressure was low, or would the bad rings make the oil pressure low? sorry for the dumb sounding questions, but i am a construction worker and not a mechanic. thanks again for the help.

thanks for your answers guys, but the news is worse. my mechanic looked at it and said that the rings are messed up. so looks like i'll be replacing cam seals,crank seals, timing belt, and head gasket all at once. any suggestions on what to do while i've got it tore down. i can get the heads...

i just bought a 89 supra turbo, and my cousin was driving it home from the old owner and noticed that the oil pressure was low. he pulled into a toyota dealership in kentucky and they told him that the crank seal was leaking. he put oil in it and the pressure was fine,but i'm wondering how much...
