Water temp gauge, normal operating temp?

I have a question about installing the sensor for the water temp gauge. Do I have to drill and tap a hole where the stock one is? Or can I drill a hole in a radiator hose and install the sensor there with a nut tightening it down? I've never done this before, so bare with me. Thanks

Water temp gauge, normal operating temp?

jdub. I think my problem is that I used the signal from the stock water temp gauge. I hooked back up the factory gauge and it was reading fine. I am going to use the sensor that came with the gauge and see how that works. Guyana00- They are electric gauges, not digital. I'll be...

Water temp gauge, normal operating temp?

Thanks jdub. I think something is wrong with the wiring. It's an electric temp gauge. It was at like 240 degrees :aigo: .

Water temp gauge, normal operating temp?

I just installed an aftermarket water temp gauge and it seems like it is too high. What is the normal operating temp in degrees? Before I took out the stock one, the temp was a hair below the middle of the gauge. So, it was normal. I looked in the TSRM and couldn't find a definite answer...

    no power very slow

I'd say the coolant with the plugs and wires is your problem. If you have a wet/dry vac, use that. Or if you can drive to the closest car wash that has the high power vacumes, use those. Or if you don't have either, a towel and screw driver. But, I would change out the plugs and wires. As...

    new paint scheme

29 y/o from profile. Definitely don't wrap the window trim in CF. My suggestion is to paint the whole car cobalt blue including trim and keep the CF hood CF. That would look sick. But, keep the orange out of it.

Best place to get stainless tubing? And let me add aluminized to that as well, lol...

I think that aluminized is real easy to weld. I'm using a Lincoln weldpak gasless flux cored and it makes some clean welds on the aluminized steel. It's a hellava lot cheaper as well. My theory is that stainless is nice looking and won't rust. But, it is under the car and not even seen. I'd...

Best place to get stainless tubing? And let me add aluminized to that as well, lol...

Jegs.com I get all my aluminized tubing from them. Cheap u-bends and piping. The shipping is very cheap and fast. I'm not sure of the SS tubing. I'm too poor for that :icon_bigg . Good luck Jake.

MKIII Brake line to MKIV Caliper, (A fitting question)(Pics)

If you look at the hole where the line goes into, there should be a rubber grommet thing. That will do most of the sealing. It wouldn't hurt to use some teflon tape.
