Uhm, there was something wrong with your car Porter.
The stock CT will hit full boost by 2800 or less on a properly tuned car.
What you are describing, 20pwns is creep. Now the creep is either the greddy boost controller's fault, or it's a restrictive turbo elbow. I've only ever used an...
JJ, Fuel cut is a function of airflow vs RPM to determine an ovreboost condition. Spark cut kicks in at any load at around 6750 in pre 89 cars. In post 89 it is at 6250 or so and an 89 could go either way depending on the motor mounts, crank, etc. (not that they have anything to do with rev...
Yes, ACIS is more like a secondary intake runner length and doesn't add any top end power, but increases runner length for more low end torque on the GE. The only way to control the ACIS system is with a factory GE TCCS.
If you are using GE electronics, stick with the GE manifold, it may help...
The axle is not the problem.
The inner race of supra bearings does not fit onto toyota truck difs. So far I don't know of anyone who has found a "hybrid" bearing that will mate the truck carriers to the supra case.
When I did mine, I removed the fuel line from the rail first... But I've been in and around the fuel rail many times, so I may have removed some brackets that made it possible to remove the csi and line together. You might see if you can install it like that though, that way you can make damn...
Plus if it is softened, the head won't seal against the gasket under high cyl pressure.
It's kind of like going from a stock piston to a forged piston only backwards.
A stock piston will hold up fine under a perfect tune, but one slip up under high boost and the motor's done. a forged piston...
Hmmm. Looks to me like IGN powers the ECU.
ouch.. It looks to power ONLY the ecu and charge light.
Here's the charge light diagram, it goes straight back to the alt. Unplug the alt and try to crank it with a new fuse, if it still blows then there is a way to test the ecu.
Let us know if...
The thing is that our heads are heat treated.
Straightening the head doesn't hurt it, but if it was warped, the heat treating was probably nullified by all of the heat involved in warping the head. By straightening it, you fixed the warped problem, but without a hardness tester, it's hard to...
Nice, My dad is working at a Titanium manufacturing plant at the moment, and we're trying to figure out if any of the obsolete equipment would be capable of re-hardenizing the heads.
As we all know, toyota knows their metalurgy, so once I can find out th exact alloy used in our heads, we...
Nice Setup Porter, I would recomend routing the air fiter out of the hot side of the engine bay, and increasing the size of your IC pipes, it is certainly a unique setup.
The thing with turbos is interesting. Nick was right on the money.
To go a bit deeper, your turbo is a compressor and a...
OK, pop your hood, pull the E-Brake and get someone that you REALLY trust to put the car in gear and rev the motor while feathering the clutch. You watch your engine like a hawk while they do this and if it's a mount, you'll see the engine jumping off the broken mount when he revs the motor. The...
Use the factory AC temp switch located on the thermo housing. It controls the factory AC aux fans, as long as your AC fans come on when the AC is on and it's hot outside, then the switch is working perfectly, as a switched ground source. Use that ground to ground a relay that powers up the fans...
I agree with suprabad. How is your steering? Does it go where you point it? Can you emulate the noise by bouncing the vehicle from the outside? I would put the car on jackstands and check the front suspension per TSRM.
Steve, I think you should run a pre-turbo vaccum gauge, as that filter looks WAY too small to push 1K. I can see the 42 just sucking it inside out and churning it into engine food. The header looks Fab Youl Ass indeed. I'm in a bit of Awe at the moment.
Carry on. ;)
Is the assumtion that this supra runs 9.4 seconds in the quarter mile?
Did it take 9.4 days to build?
Was it 9.4 years old at the time of the photos?
I could go on, Is this the one in that vid doing a wheelie?
