For those with Pre-89 Tails, I have a question for you...

I don't really think either one looks bad. Small updates are always done to vehicles. I really like certain things about the -89 front and rear - this is true as well for the 89+. Just about the only thing I don't like is the tacked-on brake light from the 1987 spoiler.

Keep the Bomex front bumper or trade for 89+ w/ lip???

It's not messed up, he's just jealous you can get it up that high :naughty: :biglaugh: :sarcasm:

when you take things to the powdercoater...

If you find a powdercoater that has good rep, this isn't going to be a problem. They have better tools than me to get stuff prepped correctly.

ARP head bolts/ Studs what's the difference?

Yes, they do come with directions. Not much to either one. Get a tap to clean the threading of the holes. Don't forget to read the note about aluminum heads at the bottom of the arp directions.

ARP head bolts/ Studs what's the difference?

If the engine is out of the car, you would definitely just install the studs first. You wouldn't have to "feel" around for the alignment pins when you were setting the head on.

The MkIII Photo Dictionary! Lets do it

Well, a couple people seemed to be really gung-ho about this early on. I am still willing to assemble the site if content ever gets to me, but it really doesn't look that is EVER going to happen. I think the issue is that the people who would be taking the pictures clearly do not have...

ARP head bolts/ Studs what's the difference?

ARP bolts are a great upgrade to stock. Studs are a little better, but nothing to lose sleep over.

when you take things to the powdercoater...

The place I use always preps. I used to prep before I brought them anything, but they told me not to bother because they do it anyway.

Proper Engine Break-in Oil and When to Switch to Synthetic Oil

Yes, yes - I have been wanting to crack into my stockpile of GC. I got a great deal on K&N filters - so now I have my own shelf-full of those too - I think those are fairly similar to one of the better filters.:dunno:

J-tube Bypass- for using an aftermarket high flow fuel pump.

I almost hate to do anything at all to the car (even though I know this won't affect it) - I've never had any of my cars locked into great AFR's like this one is now. I guess it's going on my list for tomorrow.:icon_bigg

Proper Engine Break-in Oil and When to Switch to Synthetic Oil

Somewhat related - I had to recently do some work on the head only. I have used conventional oil for the first 500 miles (just because I knew I would be changing it soon). I am changing the oil and filter again tomorrow - is there any reason I need to stick to conventional for any amount...

Officer to douchebag in 3.1 seconds.

Neither the driver nor the officer was "right". The driver overreacted to a speeding ticket: Instead of asking why the officer would not answer the driver's question, maybe ask yourself what the driver is going to accomplish by whining and arguing. He isn't going to do anything but...

    KIA RIO

I just helped a friend of mine purchase a 2005 civic with 18k miles on it for about the same money. It was certified and has a full warranty to 48k and a powertrain warranty to 100k or 2012. He got a great deal, but they are out there to be found. I would be more comfortable going that route...
