A stock CT26 will hit fuel cut somewhere around 12-13 psi. My 50 trim (close to a stock CT26) hits fuel cut right at 12.5-13. The turbo can push a little more air, but not much. Even a 57 trim will be pushing a lot of hot air much past 13.
The Lexus/550 mod should give you about a 25% increase...
Noted, thanks. I already have the hatch struts photographed, bit I could do a video on that pretty easy.
I still need to fix my hatch leaks so I can do that one from scratch.
Wait, how do you know it's a BHG? You'd have seen that in the compression test pretty clearly. If it blew somehow during the test it was pretty screwed from the beginning.
What's the bottle trick? Color me confused.
Cylinder wall damage? No.
Sounds like maybe a loose or unplugged connection? Have you checked all the connectors and plug wires? With no codes and no other changes it seems likely you've got a misfire because something isn't plugged in (spark plug wire?).
Thanks, working on it as we speak. ;)
I think I have an hour or three of recorded stuff, just gotta splice it together. I think the Youtube route may be better received than write ups so I've shifted my focus towards that for now.
Pretty basic, but might be helpful for some out there. I put together a radiator removal video last time I took mine out to put on a nice new shroud.
It's a Mishimoto radiator as well so it offers some good looks at how a Mishimoto radiator fits and how it looks after about 4 years of use...
I must be alone in this, but the rarity doesn't appeal to me at all. The mk3 by itself is quite rare judging by my random travels and the amount of compliments I get with just a plain factory NA chassis.
Of course, this is easy for me say because I don't have the spoiler.
I just want one...
Wow, VERY clean looking car. Welcome! I'm impressed a car from New York is that clean and seemingly rust free. Kudos to you.
Lots of good info around here on all things MK3. The Head Gasket issue can be easily fixed, but you can't half ass it. If you go the HKS route, that means you *should*...
Your bolded statement is true unless you have a minor weak spot in a cooling system seal somewhere. At that point the higher pressure cap acts as a leak tester that will point out leaks that may not have existed. It's a leak checker for leaks you shouldn't have to worry about.
Besides, the...
80 psi seems high on a stock build motor. Tsrm specs are up to 71 at 3k rpms. You may have a restriction somewhere.
I can't tell by your description, but are the sensors after the cooler, or before?
Yeah, there's the problem. Stock is around 12-13 psi. That extra pressure will cause unnecessary leaks. Swap that annoyance out for a correct pressure cap. Use the high pressure one as a paper weight. ;-)
Did you use the eBay radiator cap? Or some other higher pressure cap? The radiator itself shouldn't make a difference in your hoses, but a high pressure cap sure would.
Trim. Windshield trim still doesn't have the new clips, but it does stay in place. Just doesn't look as flush as it could with all the new clips.
New trim looks amazing and this picture doesn't really do it justice. It makes the A-pillar (which used to be some of the best trim on the car) look...
Long, long, long overdue. After pics from the last 9 months.
Measurements from the wheel well arch:
Before:
Front - 27"
After:
Front - 25 3/8"
Rear - 26"
Looks like I never measured the rear with the stock setup, sorry! After driving a few thousand miles with the lowered setup I can't say...

I'm looking to sell mine in the future and move up to an M5. It might be a lot of what you're looking for (reliable, quick, complete, ready to be a daily), but definitely on the upper end of your price range. It's one of the better kept 7M mk3s I've ever seen in person and, dare i say, one of...
