Really nothing but snow tires will grip well at those temps. Just the nature of the beast I'm afraid.
Kinda sucks because it's a catch 22, you make more power since the air is cold and dense, but you have less traction as well :runaway:
I run the SPT's, and they're not very nice when it's below freezing... In the rain I never had an issue, in fact they would plow right through nasty puddles that would usually pull you in.
In reality, most tires suck below freezing (except for snow tires), so it's really up to you.
The torque converter holds most of the fluid. Yes, it can be installed wrong, and if it's put on dry it can be damaged (if you're trying to drive it). You'll have to keep putting fluid in while the pump hopefully fills it. I've heard of cars that just would not fill the converter though...
There may be a stamping on them that shows the difference, but it's doubtful. The only way to tell is to measure them: http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=EM&P=48
Powerband is quite different, would need to gear it differently...
I've thought about it, but it's a lot of work. A truck diesel is too heavy, and most of the smaller diesels are either unavailable here, or finicky and expensive (like VW stuff).
- Will destroy a catalytic converter.
- Illegal for emissions.
- Only works during high flow.
- Doesn't work the rest of the time.
In other words, it's good for a drag car since it's full throttle use (and emissions don't matter) but all but worthless anywhere else.
It's fine as long as they can be turned off or dimmed. Judging by how well you can see stuff that's outside the car, I'm thinking the exposure is a little long so it looks brighter than it really is.
You're thinking of the 6M engine, not 6M crank in the 7M engine. All 7M's have the same crank pulley.
As it's a dampener, the lightweight pulley is a bad move as it doesn't function as a dampener. If you like your bearings, you'll stay away ;)
