Alright, so climbing up to about 210 after shutting off is normal then?
I haven't put my undertray back on since I did my swap (was trackign down a coolant leak, and didn't feel like taking the tray on and off untill it was fixed) and I have to put all the heat sheilds back on still so that...
I tried searching for a thread talking about this but wasn't able to come up with something usefull. I installed an aftermarket temp gauge today and I just want to make sure everything is in check as far as temps go. Please let me know if any of this is not normal.
External temps - Mild...
I cut my front springs to lower it down some, but still need to do the back... I know people are going to flame it, but you know what? I don't really care!
Reasons why I'm glad I did it:
1) It's temporary untill I get coilovers
2) Provided a very nice drop
3) Stiffened up the front
4) No...
Thanks CRE... hmm how can you tell wich is wich, I think I got mine confused when I had them both off of my two motors.. I might be using my NA alternator right now.
damn crush my hopes and dreams haha... ah well I'll just baby it run under 6lbs of boost untill I can afford a new clutch and r154 setup... or at least a very nice clutch for the w58.. man do I love how this thing shifts...
so I guess there is no way I can just transfer the little pcb board...
thanks guys! It's been a lot of fun doing this swap. I have developed a pretty severe coolant leak tho... I think it's from the thermostat housing that attatches to the block that has the water return on it, it seems to be running down the front of the engine from that location.
Ya I know the...
Dachande: ohh ic... I thought I could just switch over the tach itself. Ok, so I'll use the entire turbo gauge cluster and swap in my volt meter!
akito: Ya I know it's filthy... but most of those spots aren't dirt, it's the paint.. it's like the front half of the car had something spilled on...
Sooo... after a year of wanting to do this it is finally done!
The whole thing went pretty smooth actually, I was suprised!
-Pulled the gte from the wrecked car without a hitch
-Pulled the ge from my car without a hitch
-Swapped my w58 onto gte and installed new clutch - went just fine...
ok cool that's what I was thinking...
But since I'm using a M/T ecu does it still have the imput for the neutral safety switch? Would I be better off using the Auto ecu?
Edit:
Is this how I am supposed to jumper it so that the ecu thinks the vehicle is in park?
o---o shows...
Well I just finished getting everything buttoned up with my NA-T... But I have a slight problem.. Go to turn the key.. nothing! Go to try my turn signals.. nothing.
The car was originaly an 88 NA 5spd... What I am using is an 88 turbo m/t ecu with an 88 turbo auto harness... The turbo motor...
