Finally got it... I had tried... Cap Oil Filter wrench, Strap Wrench, jamming Screwdriver (tire iron), and channel locks. FInally the mixture of jamming a tire iron into the side of the filter and crushing and turning with the channel locks prevailed. The filter cap wrench didn't work...

tried the screw driver trick. still no go. yeah i understand what you mean about the road trips, but i do wanna take it to fl. jus cuz its amazing n i do plan on redoing the head gasket at a later time. so we shall see!

i'd be careful of a jz on ebay for cheap. Probably better off learning the inner workings of your engine then getting the 1jz after you really learn how to deal with it. What I am trying right now to really understand the 7M-GTE and then I would love a 1jz in the future! Good Luck let us know...
