cup holders in this car do suck balls. Its a GT car so when i spend like 4 hours driving its nice to have someplace to put the coffee thats keeping you awake at night. the airbag computer in that console make that little compartment like 1'' deep and the cup holders are just too far back...

As far as sending something to the machine shop to get measurements off of i'd consider making an edrawing from solid works of what you want. Sort of a 2d blue print of the piece you want with all of the dimensions with it. That way if they dont have solidworks they can still read it just using...
