Pretty much what I have going on, wouldnt be the tranny tho since it would vibrate depending on rpms not speed. Have you had your stock 2 piece driveshaft apart before?
Torque wrench all the way, no air impact here.
Did an inspection today with the car in the air, everything seemed to be normal. No play at all in the tie rod ends maybee the tinyest amount in ball joints. Going to hit up a tire shop and get all 4 wheels rechecked for balance to eliminate that...
another side thought, could this be the drift shaft causing this? The stock 2-piece was taken apart then put back together. Didnt see any timing marks on it but I placed it to where it appeared to be previously by wear/rub marks. Another possibilty..
Rewired the KS sensors tonight, turned out awesome and no codes, yet....
Im pre-89 so no removing starter or upper intake manifold, took me probly 2 hours or so to properly strip, solder and tie new wires into harness to ecu.
What kind of voltage does the ECU send to the KS sensors anyways? I...
Tommorow when I flush diff fluid going to inspect tie rods, ball joints, sub frame bushings, brakes and so on. Check for proper torque on them also. Going to figure this one out asap without assuming and replacing random parts.
Yesss that was the answer I was looking for, thanks poodles.
OK GUYS im not asking this because I want to do it, mearly trying to creat a discussion on this to gather good points to use when the local boys bring it up again. Read my post more carefully before blantly calling me stupid...
Im talking no by-pass or vented bov, and I did bring up the surge breaking compressor wheels but no one seemed too concerned about it. The big question is do high hp tuners not use bovs when they put together a setup?
Im thinking the 6 and 12 would be for ball joint and 3 and 9 of tie rod.
How much movement should there be in each of those postions? just a little or none at all?
That would could deff be a problem, just found it strange that 3 different set of rims all did the same thing. Makes me believe there is something else going on. This is one of the things on my list to double check.
code 52 Deffinitly brings you down on power and fuel economy. Im getting about the same milage as poodles does right now. Stongly believe its the wiring so knock sensor re-wire tommorow.
Whats a good way to tell if a ks is pooched or not, just by general appearance?
Below 60mph the car seems to vibrate ever so slightly (almost not noticeable) But once above 70mph or higher the vibration gets progressivly worse. This is all coming from the front end of the car I believe.
What could be causing this? I know its not a bent/unbalanced rim since I have ran 3...
Almost every local turbo car owner around here isnt running a bov. almost all the drifters since they get better throttle response and even GT35R subarus arnt running one. Had a guy telling me tonight that high hp tuners dont run bov's on theyr setups due to hickups and going rich between shifts...
Your thinking too hard, check the plugs connection and the wires condition. once the motor heats up --> heats up wire, then wire expands. bam open ciruit tripping code 52. Look closely along wires for discoloring and if its strechy in any spots. Check the rear knock sensor and wiring again.
More then likely a dead short in the wiring, even though its new check it out. If one of the knock sensor wires were pulled on during your swap, that would cause it.
