I once owned a 97 Accord EXR. 2.2L 4 banger. That thing was pretty quick. I miss it more than any other vehicle I've owned.
Since then I bought a Jeep TJ Rubicon. It does 0-60 in.....whatever, but it doesn't need to be fast. Knowing I can simply drive OVER the riced out Civic next to...
I had my engine built by a pro who was recommended by a very good friend of mine, who himself is a top notch mechanic.
This friend of mine has built 8 second dragsters and blah, blah, blah. Point is, he knows his shit. Currently he has a massively modified jeep....the motor in his jeep was...
Your original post is a bit confusing. You say your honda has 13 wires and the head unit harness has 12...that's fine. Then you say there is another black wire? Is that 'another' wire which would mean there are actually 13 on the deck's harness?
In most cases black wires are 'ground'...
Problem Solved. I removed the EGR and replaced it with block off plates. The problem is now resolved! It was either the EGR vacuum modulator or the EGR itself. Either way, all is good. Hope this helps.
My engine doesn't die after I rev it, it smooths out. Lets say I drive up to a light and stop and this time the car decided it wants to idle rough (it doesn't do it every time). If at idle and in neutral, I mash the gas pedal to the floor and bring the rpm to about 5000, when it drops back...
The easiest way to diagnose a problem like this is the process of elimination. Pull out the speaker that isn't working. Hook it up to your home stereo or something that you know is good. If it doesn't work, you know it's the speaker. If it does....
Pull out the deck. Find the wires...
The problem you're having sounds very similar to mine. It starts up good and as it warms up the idle is normal. Go for a 5-10 minute drive though and come to a stop and the idle is erratic.
It's missing, shaking, sputtering, etc. If I stomp on the gas in neutral and bring the motor to...
theprodigy79 has given you excellent advice!!! I'm currently running 2 Jl amps. A 300/4 powering Boston Acoustics 5.5 component in custom kick panels and Boston 4x6 in the factory rear location. Also a 500/1 for the subs.
I've had this system now for about 5 years and it's been flawless...
It probably just needs a carburator service. You can drop in a used 4.0L FI motor pretty cheap, or just fix the carb. I'd drop in a used 4.0L myself. They run forever.
Toyota's are not bad for off road, but if you're going to build an off road vehicle Jeep's are the way to go. Parts are...
You're going to have to give me some more info here. Are the speakers wired up directly to the deck or are they wired to an amp? Does your car have a factory amp? You say you changed a fuse and it worked...that would indicate that your speakers are wired to an amp. Which fuse did you...
Hey all..still kinda new to SM but a long time Supra owner and more recently a Jeep owner. I am part of the Tri-City Jeep Club here in Ontario Canada.
http://www.tricityjeepclub.org/ is the website. I'm sure they can help you answer any questions you may have.
A good friend of mine has...
It's about time I posted here on SM! I'd just like to say thanks to Steve, Steve, Steve and Family and Alan for coming out. This was my first trip to Kentucky and you all made it more than worthwhile.
Glad I got a chance to meet you all! I'm looking forward to doing it again!
