There is a sensor in the back of the key cylinder, this has a center that turns. When you turn your key it will turn the cylinder and should turn you alarm off. If you problem only happens sometimes I would be led to believe the contacts in that switch are bad or the mounting points are worn...
I use johnsons paste wax, it works well. Its carnuba and some other waxes in a paste form, i think kerosene makes it a paste. Anyways you rub it on and wait for it to dry into a full wax then you can polish the wax to a shine, works very well and gives a very smooth finish. I made two black...
A word of warning, get an after market fuel pressure regulator if you are going with the 255, then bypass or drill out the j-tube. Also when you were saying about the pump priming itself, the mk3 does NOT prime itself like a normal car. The cranking signal turns on the fuel pump then the...
I also have two ects and I am in Georgia, Gainesville to be specific. If you want you can come by and try to plug one in. I have a 89 and a 87 so if there is a difference it is covered. But I think they are both na units so I dont know if that makes a difference, I dont think there is though.
Well I got the pre molds done last night, but it took me a lot longer than I though it would. The coating I put on the molds turned out a lot more rough then I would have liked so there will be some sanding and another coat getting done tonight, so that really sets me back, I was hoping to have...
Actually the last paragraph I wrote covered that. So my assumption was correct in that its just a air temperature change caused by the different turbos (taking out the factors of spool time and max spool velocity ect).
Thx for the description NoseChunks.
Unless they were torqued to max spec they are fine. As for running a die over them bad idea just make sure they are clean and the nuts go on smooth. Also make sure to use moly-lube to overcome friction when re-torquing.
Not to discredit you or say you are wrong or anyone is really, but in my ignorance of the idea please enlighten me as I am only a logical person. Now I am not trying to be cynical or anything I just really am curious.
I have seen many times where people say a large turbo can give as much...
Bad to hear but hard to believe that a head gasket would cause all that much coolant to come out. Also a composite gasket is not bad they are good gaskets. Lastly you can raise the compression and not have a problem, you said you are running .6 bar so around just under 8psi not really that...
Well today is drift and tomorrow im off so I will get back to it tomorrow. I screwed up the mold some yesterday, didn't put any release agent down and the part stuck to the mold so I bent it some taking the last part out. Not all for the bad, I am gonna make a new mold just need someone with a...
I was originally gonna go with black cf but my wife wanted the blue/black hybrid fiber. And I would finish detailing the car except the foam pad on my buffer ripped apart, guess thats just 10 years of use for you. I have a new one on the way. As for attachment, I am going to use the factory...
Ok so here is the second part I have done, and I have redone the first piece to fit inside of the recess.
First the refitted front piece.
Now the fitted rear.
Well the primered car is mine and the blue car is my wifes. I am going to make a second set of led turn signals to put on her car just wanted to put up the pic for reference, I made the parts for the light last night just have to attach them to a lexan cover then attach the light grid to it...
The other thing about this piece that makes it look strange is that my wife wants it to completely hide the original recess that the trim usually sits in. I think for future setups I will have it more closely match the original size and shape. I should be able to get one piece done per night...
Taking another break while the next piece sets up. I got the first part trimmed. The pic does not do it justice it looks really good. Btw this is a Black blue hybrid fiber, CF and Kevlar. Unfortunately today is my only day off for another 4 days so I dont think I will get this done very...
So to start I am making a carbon fiber trim kit for my wifes 88 turbo. Her original trim was rusting so we took it off asap. Now we had to choose, buy a new trim set and hopefully get one that matches, or shave the sides smooth as I have done with my 89 or make a new carbon fiber set for it...
On low my tems feel like normal struts on med or high they are a lot stiffer. For instance in low I go over rail road tracks at 25 or so and its smooth, on high I can cross tracks at 60 and barely feel them. In neither condition should the car bounce more than once or twice at most or the...
From what I have found get the toe in the front to -10 to -15 on each front so -20 to -30 cross toe and for the rear run around 0 to -10 cross. Also the main thing you need to worry about is get the Caster up pretty high, I think stock is somewhere around 7.25 or so and you wanna run it up to 9...
