You mean make a vented filler cap? I could always just buy one too..
Anyway, thanks for the charcoal canister suggestions but what I'm really wondering about here in this thread is the fuel lines! :)
Does anyone know how restrictive the stock lines are? or if they're restrictive at all?
Would it also be a good idea to get rid of the charcoal canister while i'm working around there and just route that line out the side somewhere?
I understand what the charcoal canister does and don't really...
Yeah, but 'supposed to' doesn't mean they will.. I'm going to replace the fuel filter anyway to see if I can narrow down some problems i've been having, so was wondering whether relocating it, replumbing the fuel lines, etc would be worth it.
I was just about to change my stock fuel filter, but considering how much of a pain it is (I can't fit my hands in there to get to it! :(), I'm going to upgrade to a new fuel pump (bosch 040) at the same time.
Got me thinking... is it worth relocating the stock filter so its easier to get to...
Hmm, also, I just finished making up some replacement knock sensor wires (:D) ... trying to work out the best place to run them through into the cabin/glovebox?
I can just poke a hole in the rubber grommet that the ECU loom goes through and feed them through there, but the grommet in question...
Ordered a HKS SSQV kit for MA70, hopefully it gets here quickly :D
Still waiting on word of whether they can get the plumbback fitting for the SSQV in Australia - if not I'll either have to buy one from USA or get someone with a metal lathe to make me one :)
Hi all,
I had no idea where to post this, so apologies if it is in the wrong section.
The "kit" that HKS sells with their SSQV blow off valve... does this come with the upper intercooler pipe with built-in flange or is that something people like suprasport.com have developed themselves...
Hurrah indeed!
Trying to find a place in Aus that sells HKS SSQV blow off valves with the recirculation fitting is another story... :(
Might have to get it from the USA
Ah hah!
Pulled the stock blow off valve out this morning, i could blow air straight through it. That must be where the hissing is coming from. I can't wait to replace it (thinking HKS SSQV at the moment). :)
Also picked up a new fuel filter and two hilux sensor cables this morning so I...
Mwuhahaha its fixed :D
Pulled the moulding off, put some decent primer + isolator on there, and re-applied the sealant in a different manner, making sure I sealed all the way to the edges.
It's been pouring with rain over the last few days and I haven't had a single drop of rain leak onto my...
Someone on these forums recommended something specific (brake grease maybe??) but I can't remember off-hand. I have a tube of it at home so I'll have a look when I get home and let you know.
Fluid has only recently been changed but the problem was there both before and after the change. I have not yet changed the filter.
Come to think of it, there's another issue with my tranny: on the first drive after the car's been sitting for hours (8+), the car drives along fine but there's...
Since this is already a thread on auto transmissions, hopefully I can sneak in and ask a quick question. :)
Is it normal for the a340e to 'pause' when accelerating from a stop? For example, when I pulled out of the car park this morning I eased on the accelerator and the revs increased but the...
