I have replaced the VC gaskets, oil pressure sending unit, Dizzy o-ring and I am still getting oil from somewhere...I saw it like it had been sprayed onto the exhaust heat shield.:aigo:
I think that there is oil leaking out from between the head and the block....its an 87' N/A with 180K. It also runs a little rough when it warms up...does this sound like it could be a blown Head Gasket?
well I tested the TPS and it didnt read the way it was supposed to for one of the tests...infact it was an open circuit...so hopefully thats what it is and not the begining of a goose chase.
I have an 87' Supra and it runs great until it hits running temperature... It is like a switch is thrown and the idle will drop and stall sometimes...when driving it wants to buck and even backfire! I have looked for vacuum leaks dont see any though. Any ideas would help. Thanks.
OK I know what it is...my problem starts when the car gets to full running temp and its like a switch was flipped and the idle gets rough and I get little back fires etc. Does anyone know what this might be?
The idea was to heat the metal surrounding the shaft and break its hold on it. The metal on the outside should heat much faster than the shaft inside thus expanding around the shaft and loosening its grip. This usually works, but didnt in this case.
