hey man, I sent you a PM, I'm thinking about putting a 1jz-gte intake manifold on my 2jz-gte head. How close are the bolts? Where is the notching needed, and will the upper fit with no issues on the lower with the notching done?
Fucking AWESOME build, man. Really inspirational. Keep going...
There may be 2 seperate circuits for each fan, as there are high and low speed settings. They are also triggered by AC in the maxima to run at high speed. I'll try and look up the FSM to check the wiring.
Well I know the remote shifter r154/w58 sit a few inches further back than the regular mk3 w58/r154. I'm just trying to gauge how much further it would be and if I'd have to do any modification to the shifter linkage. It would be difficult, as I don't know how to weld.
Can a canyon trans...
Awesome. I found an 06 Solstice trans locally for $450, but I'm worried about the shifter location. I have an SC300 (w58 swapped from auto)
My w58 has the remote ('96+) shifter, and still it sits far forward. Would you guesstimate that the solstice trans would sit somewhat further back...
Awesome job!
What fans will you use? And will the stock rad be enough to handle the bigger load?
I also have a question about transmissions. Do the AR5 or MA5 bolt to the 2jz with 1jz bellhousing? What clutch can I use?
Subscribed to this thread. This car is awesome.
I'd also lean towards the map not being connected. it's easy to miss. I didn have my map connected at first, and it didnt want to run right.
here's a list of things to check, which are common issues:
ignitor
MAP sensor
Coil packs.
the ECUs are the same and interchangeable, but the harnesses are not.
I'm running a chaser ecu in my sc300.
Th problem with a chaser harness is that 2 of the 4 ECU plugs are inegrated into the body harness, which isn't included. You pretty much can't wire it unless it's not going into a...
drove the car this morning, drove perfectly fine.
I'm going to check my coilpacks and test for boost leaks today.
I think it was because it was raining yesterday, and was very damp outside. Couldve caused a short somewhere.
no problem. I've had issues with my ignitor before, and this kind of feels like the same sort of thing. I dont know why it would just die out of nowhere though.
I took out the car today, and ran like crap. I hope it's not another ignitor issue, it'll be my second in a year.
I'm having the exact same problem, it feels like there's a loss of spark everytime i want to boost.
I'm going to do a boost leak test tomorrow, and check my coilpacks.
if it's not that, i'll check the wiring, something may have come loose.
