thx for the info. i'll reverse the mods before taking my car to smog check. i know removing egr won't do any good for performance, but it won't do any harm either. i put the block off plate there just to prevent the carbon from building up in the air way to the intake. when i took it out to...
i'm about to renew the registration of my 88 supra na. i believe the this year dmv is gona require a smog check. i did some very small mods to my car. basically just two mods: cool air intake (pls see the pic below) and an egr block off plate. will my car fail the smog test because of these two...
that's what i'm worried about. even if i did it in the wrong order, it still shouldn't cause air to be trapped. but so far the brake seems to be working just fine. just don't know what could be wrong.
maybe the opposite of conventional rule is correct for my supra. but even if i bled in the reversed order, it'd be simply not clean enough in the brake line. it shouldn't cause the air to be trapped inside, right?
us spec w/o abs. so what i did was correct. but doing it in this order eventually caused the air to be trapped in rear left. it actually happened twice, whenever i bled the front right, air got trapped in rear left. any idea why?
i just flushed the brake fluid of my 88 supra n/a today. it was very dirty before the flush, that's why i did it. i had tried looking for the correct sequence, but there were many different suggestions online. in the end i chose to follow the "do the furthest from master cylinder first" rule...
thx for the info. it actually fits both way. unless you mean when installing the transmission back to the car, then the bracket should fit only one way. i have tried installing the bracket to the transmission, both way fits.
so is my current installation or no?
i took out my w58 to seal the oil leak. but i forgot which direction the rear mounting bracket should go. i temporally installed it pointing to the front (pls see pic below). did i installed it correctly or did i have it backward?
that's what i thought after doing some googling. people are aligning distributor in this way on old cars. so when i install the distributor, i first align the crankshaft to 0 mark, then point the rotor to the center of #1 cylinder wire plug. is that right?
the TSRM from a 90 supra says there's...
hi all, i've started working on the head gasket on my 88 supra na today. i followed the TSRM and aligned the crankshaft then took out the distributor. when i cleaned it, i couldn't find any mark for alignment on the gear. the TSRM (IG-19) says that i'm supposed to align the groove on the housing...
i've done a little more googling. some say the ultra black and the toyota seal package are the same thing. but i wana try the ultra grey because it seems somewhat better than the ultra black.
just any FIPG or must be the toyota one?
great. thx!
