    Oil smoke issue

I personally built the head after having it done wrong the last time. I was quite careful about the seals so don't think that could be it, plus my experience is bad seals will show smoke when first fired up. Smoke only shows when snapping throttle shut and pulling up to a stop. Really still...

    Catch can

New build and using a catch can for the first time. The unit came with an open drain pipe and no valve to shut off drain. Without a valve, the drain port seems to be a dead vacuum leak, true?

PCV system for after market turbo and IC pipes

Can anyone tell me exactly what is needed for the 7M GTE PCV system to work correctly when after market turbo and Intercooler pipes are being used? The "3000" pipe no longer has a port for some line and just want to make sure I have this system hooked up correctly. I am also using a catch can...

    Oil smoke issue

The turbo is original, but was rebuilt by a shop in Nashville called Auto Turbo. We have had some reports since they did the rebuild of some others being unhappy with their work, but the turbo had not been an issue prior to the engine overhaul. Is it possible the stuck wastegate linkage that...

    Oil smoke issue

I see many have looked at this post but no replies. I was very careful setting up valves (using big block chevy inner springs) and hand installed each valve seal. All pistons went in smoothly and ring gaps were aligned by the book. All new machine work and fitment dead on. Is it possible...

    Oil smoke issue

So my fresh engine had a few issues at first (too much boost because of wastegate linkage hitting IC pipe) but now runs strong, except that at about 500 miles it began smoking when backing of to a stop. Large cloud comes up and surrounds car. 7M GTE with minor mods--big intercooler, 3 inch...

    New engine boost issue

Looks as if the new IC pipe was hitting the wastegate linkage and preventing it from operating. Still get 10 to 11 psi at full revs (guessing since I have not done the tach fix yet, but resistors are on order) and not hitting fuel cut so I think it is FIXED

    How to decrease boost

FIXED I think. Turns out the new intercooler pipe was hitting the wastegate linkage and had it blocked, or so it seems. Boost now climbs to about 10 or 11 at full revs (or as much as I plan to spin it without a good tach) and no fuel cut. Thanks to all for your help!

    New engine boost issue

Yes, it hits 12 psi at about 5K rpms. I know many go fast folks would say "great, just do all the fuel system upgrades and enjoy" but just not in my buget right now.

    How to decrease boost

Staying off the gas pedal is no fun! Can the stock wastegate be opened up and the spring trimmed, or can I buy an adjustable waste gate to use with the stock turbo?

    How to decrease boost

I have a cheap dial type in line valve I could use, but I thought that would limit the pressure the wastegate gets and thus increase boost by adjustment. You must mean something else. I'm new to the turbo stuff, so could you point me to the right kind of controller?

    How to decrease boost

Fresh engine with drift motion 3" downpipe and exhaust and aftermarket intercooler, drift motion modified oil pump, oil thermostat, cooler and filter relocator, now makes so much boost I get 12lbs at about 5000 rpms and hit fuel cut. Running stock turbo and wastegate, what is the easy way to...

    New engine boost issue

Forgot to say THANKS to everyone for your help.

    New engine boost issue

FIXED. Hose clamp missing on lower intercooler line and hose had worked itself almost all the way off. Now runs strong and pushes 11 to 12 lbs of boost then hits fuel cut. Should stock wastegate allow this?

    New engine boost issue

One more part of the puzzle, noticed when we first ran it that under fair throttle it was showing 10 more lbs of boost. This also makes me think the wastegate may be faulty.
