Just checked it again . . . there has been no fluid loss at all . . . hoses all seem good.
But the fluid is really frothy ! I will have to get a Turkey Baster to try sucking some of the fluid out to have a look at it.
And where is the mesh filter you mention? Can't see any reference to it in...
Thanks again for replying Bru . . .
Yes this is in my Mk3 . . . but I fitted a 2JZ-GE from a Mk4 Supra about 10 years ago. (so it has the pump with the reservoir attached)
Going lock to lock doesn't get rid of the noise, in fact I have never known such a loud squeeling noise !
And as I say...
Oh Bru I can't thank you enough !! I have spent hours online searching for these, without any luck.
I did find somebody on Ebay that had the Front Brake Cable (new Blueprint old stock) for about $40, so although I don't need that at present I bought it while I could (the one from Japan would be...
I have just started getting an awful squeeling noise when I turn the the Steering Wheel from side to side.
You can also hear a noise from the Power Steering Pump when the engine is ticking over (2JZ-GE)
The fluid level is OK . . . but it is very frothy !
I presume I need a new Power Steering...
One of my rear cables has just broken.
Loads of different companies used to make these . . . and were about $30 here in England.
It seems nobody makes them any more . . . apart from a company in Japan that wants around $200 each !
Has anyone found any from other car models that fit?

My rear Subframe has never been dropped . . . but it needs to come out as there is a small hole that needs welding above it.
I found a good Video where a guy leaves everything attached - just unbolts the Propshaft, bottom of the rear Shocks, rear Brake Calipers and then removes it with...
OK, thank you.
Sending it to a guy who rebuilt his engine, but connected all the brown chassis wires (that connect under the Inlet Manifold) to +12V . . . I'm pretty sure he will have fried at least part of his ECU!
Forget the Code Reader . . . have you tried linking the pins on the Diagnostics port and reading the Flashes of the Engine Light to see what codes you get? (as per the details in the TSRM)
Does the engine turn over OK?
The radio has nothing to do with the ECU, so sounds like you have a power...
Will a 7MGTE ECU from an Automatic car fit and work in a Manual car with a 7M-GTE ? (both are Facelift models)
I seem to remember it will . . . but can somebody please confirm before I send it.
(Trying to help someone out who has blown up their ECU!)
Just love how it looks and how it drives.
Took mine to a local Classic car Show at the weekend . . . lots of admiring comments, and not just from old guys. Lots of young kids really love it, compared to most modern cars!
And what's my favourite thing about MY Mk3? Having a 2JZ engine in...
I've got a brand new one (boxed) I picked up cheap on ebay a few years ago . . . but waiting to get my front bumper re-sprayed before I eventually fit it!
Haven't read every single post in this thread, but just a couple of comments . . .
It's certainly much easier if you get a 2JZ engine (and ECU) from a Mk4 Supra, along with all the ancillaries
The Mk3 Temperature Gauge sender fits in the 2JZ block - I swapped mine so I knew the gauge...
Just to pick up on this discussion . . . as a long-time Mk3 N/A owner (15 years) who has also done a lot of research.
In my opinion, when it comes to reliability there is no comparison between the the 7M-GE and the 2JZ-GE !
The 7M was one of the most powerful 3 litre engines when it came out ...
