    more cooling needed.

This, especially if the AC condenser fins are all bent up. My A/C pump/lines were out of the car already but the previous owner didn't remove the condenser for whatever reason. I removed it and it was in very poor condition, made a very significant difference to the cooling capacity. Went...

    Valve Shims

IIRC there are Yamaha shims as well that will fit. Yamaha was invovled in the 7M design. After a quick search I found this thread as well.....lots of good info: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?121523-Alternative-Shims-for-7M-Engines

Want to confirm Oil Gauge proper readings..

Mechanically driven speedometers can be thrown off by as much as over or underflating your tires. Assuming you are running with stock diameter tires is it a good enough representation of what you need to know? Yes. I'm not saying gauges can't be out of calibration, but when everything is...

so yea heads cracked what to do next??

Look for a Cressida 7M-GE head. Much less likely to have been abused and cooked. I was very lucky and picked one up off eBay that was in mint condition.

Want to confirm Oil Gauge proper readings..

That's different than being plain wrong. You can get a pretty good idea as to what's happening still with the markings that are on it. There's a difference to the needle deflection giving false information and the markings making it hard to get exact readings. If you are worried about it and...

    7m head bolt pattern?

My ARP studs were definitely 14mm 12-point......had to go buy a socket specifically for them because all I had was 6 point sockets. Using a deep 3/8" drive socket that has thinner walls should let you clear the cams when rotated to TDC marks. Stockers should be the 10mm allen as mentioned.

The stock gauge isn't typically inaccurate, just slow to respond.

Bad oil consumption, need some help !

A little oil on the intake side of the turbo is fairly normal. The PCV dumps in to the accordian hose and it will inevitably have SOME oil residue recirculating even in optimal operation, so that front lip of the turbo is an easy place to see some of that residue collecting. Just for your own...

Bad oil consumption, need some help !

Typically oil on the intake side piping is from excessive crank case pressure, typically caused by a plugged PCV or incorrectly routed PCV system. If everything in the PCV checks out then it's likely excessive blowby from rings not sealing properly. When the turbo leaks it isn't common to see...

Bad oil consumption, need some help !

Take the downpipe off and check for oil on the hot side of the turbo/in the downpipe for turbo leakage. If your rings are that fried you'll typically have exhaust/smoke coming out of the filler cap if you remove that while idling. Valve stem seals leaking that badly would likely leave oil on...

    Lexus 2jzge swap?

IIRC the rods on the VVTI engines are not nearly as beefy too.

    1987 7mgte ECU. Symptoms of a bad ECU :evil5:

Absolute first thing that needs to happen is get those Venom injectors out of there. Then start working through the codes. Start with code 51, run through the TPS test/calibration in the TSRM.

play in rear wheel @ 6 and 12 accompanied by NASTY sounds

In my experience play from 6 - 12 is typically a wheel bearing. You can listen to the bearing through a stethescope while the wheels are turning to confirm. Obviously this would take two people (one in the driver seat and one listening with the stethescope). I've only ever done this on a...

52k mile Craigslist Turbo in GA

Assuming it's mechanically sound I'd definitely pay that for the car. Being completely stock (from what I can see) I'd say is a big plus....less of a chance of it being horribly horribly abused. It's tough without getting the car inspected mechanically though. Who knows what mechanical...

    What kinda of LSD??

I'm pretty sure it's a 4.30 clutch type. IIRC the 4.10 was the JZ models torsen and the 3.91 (87 - 88) and 3.73 (89+) were 7M-GTE, also clutch type.
