    ct26 install

I found removing obstructions, like completely removing the lower turbo support brace and the turbo hose to the intercooler, helps free up some space to get to the 12mm bolts. Good luck.

    Another rod knock thread?

^^ around the 2:00 minute mark as well. Is the sound louder at oil pan (from crank end of con rod), or higher up, as from piston end? Sorry about your bad luck.

having a problem removing my turbo feed n retuen line

^^^ What he said. I just fixed my turbo oil leak caused by a substandard aftermarket gasket. Bought the Toyota gasket in the pic above, installed it, and surprise, no freakin' leak.

Tips on storing machined block, head, crank over winter

I did the exact same thing as you to store some engine parts, but wound up with surface rust on them. I think the WD-40 evaporated, leaving the surface unprotected. I switched to coating the parts with 30 weight engine oil, and have had no surface rust since that change. Good luck! ul

    Brake Area Producing Hissing Sound

stevenr816, I think you nailed it. wear indicators are rubbing the rotor. worn pads would also explain the low brake fluid level in the reservoir

    Brake Area Producing Hissing Sound

I don't think brake fluid is going to help. The "hissing" noise you mention, it sounds like a vacuum leak from the brake booster. Is noise loudest inside car or under hood? How about with engine running or stopped?

    Cooling system help?

modmonster2008, is engine pushing bubbles and/or coolant out of overflow tank after a hard drive? That was my bhg symptom. never overheated, but I guess I caught it early, or had a mild bhg. I had gurgling noise as well, and typically had to add 4 to 8 ounces of coolant after daily commute...

    engine under-cover needed?

Good info guys. Guess I'll be placing an order for a replacement. Dirgle, sounds like we have the same luck. I was cruising up I-95, when a truck throws a 6 foot long tire tread ("road gator") right at my mk3. It hit the right side of the bumper, drags over the hood and fender, tears off the...

    engine under-cover needed?

Is the plastic engine under-cover needed, or even useful? Mine broke apart around screw holes, specifically the area between the front bumper and the radiator support, and road rash finished it off. It looks like the cover's job is to force air that enters the grill to pass through the IC/ac...
