I read this about oil weights, http://supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3234214&page=1&pp=25
I was going to go with 10w40, but I stepped it up to 20w50...
I don't know really..I couldn't make sense of a lot of the article, so if someone has better advice let me know.
But with my hard...
good point.. did you have your radio with a separate power wire directly off the positive battery terminal and properly fused?
I've heard of people putting aftermarket headunits in their car, connecting them using the stock power wire, blowing the radio fuse over and over till they get fed up...
I know it should have more pressure though...
Perhaps thats why everyone ends up with rodknock.
with 5/10w30 in there, I had even worse horrible oil pressure in there, which I believe to be the cause of my rodknock in the first place.
Does anyone know anything about the oil cooler?
I...
Well thats true, thats why you check the 100a fuse and battery terminals first IMO.. Now your using up options.
Since fusible links and other wiring crap is a pain in the ass, id try the ignition switch next.
One thing you know, is that if your ignition switch were malfunctioning, and not...
Is 10btdc better? I'll try that.. Somehow it had found its way to 15btdc and I had driven it like that for probably a month. Could that have damaged valves or something else?
It sounds more like head than block, let me put it that way.
My main problem with this issue is I cant listen for it...
It wont be the starter..
I mean, even with the starter completely unplugged and off the car, I believe incar lights and gauges would still go on if the car were turned to the on position. I'd work on trying to get all your electronics to light up as they should in the on position.
Then if...
Car is not laggy whatsoever.. very fast... I haven't really really pushed it for any extended period of time, mostly I'm being very gentle with it for now to figure out whats going on.
I had a rodknock and just fixed it... its possible I didn't fix it well enough I guess, but this definitely...
Ahh alright one more try after fully reading your last post...
If you have tried everything else...
I'd DEFINITELY try bypassing or putting in a new ignition
I've had one go bad.
That is.. obviously where you put your key in and turn.
It sounds to me like its worn out and thats why nothing...
Ah sorry I didnt read your first post till after I posted...
Anyway.. assuming you checked those, there are also a couple fusible links that can go.... a super pain in the ass.. I really suspected I had one go on me once, and it turned out to be a break in the wire just before it. The casing...
First thing I would do is put new battery terminals on, cut any connectors off wires leading to battery terminal, strip it down to the copper wire, and clamp them directly down to the terminal bare wire exposed.
I had these cheap electrical washer type connectors like this ::::=(o) They...
It's a 7mgte 87 supra manual.
Another problem I have now that my car is running again... I have a ticking noise. It comes from the exaust side of the engine I think. I'll take a video of it later if it would help.
Basically, while in neutral either idling or reving, it does not make the...
Alright, I've owned a few supras by now, they are a learning experience.. I get better and better but I still make my mistakes.
Last mistake was, I did an oil change with 5w30 or 10w30 oil, and after 15mins of driving my oil pressure acted weird ups and downs. I replaced the gauge, and...
I have a turbo I aquired a while ago. It's been sitting a while over a year and from a car that ran out of oil and died from rodnock. It has absolutely 100% no play... only problem is it doesnt spin freely. When I turn it with my hand its stiff. It does feel smooth when turning though, no...
