No doubt. Thing I miss most about Cali is the year-round good weather. The motivation thing is real for sure, especially with ADHD and a million other things to think about/projects to demand attention, and well - life...lol. Car has been down since 2008; rebuilt the motor between then and...
If I can't find someone, definitely - part of the problem is, I've let the car sit for so long, now that I'm getting the drive to get it going again I don't want to take forever to build a harness.
I've looked into them - I'll see if they have a good sale this month, and maybe finally pull the...
Some of you may have seen my thread over on SF about Tweak'd, but I never really got an answer over there. It looks like they're out of the harness game, and I've tried contacting them multiple times with no responses - so is there anyone else building harnesses? I have the skill to build one...
Ok, update -- still waiting for the AEM; the place I ordered it from said they'd gotten their hands on the last one from their supplier. Fast-forward, and as of tonight, they said they're getting no response from their supplier after several attempts, and the only info is that it was shipped to...
Stock bottom end rebuild, ported head I picked up off an old user on here, and a Sethron modded stock intake (modded to be a FFIM) and a stock jdm throttle body. Turbo is a Turbonetics TO4E 60-1 that was on the car when I bought it and was rebuilt, and I put the 550cc injectors and Lex AFM in.
So, a little back story...
I've always had the intention of going standalone after my motor rebuild a decade ago, and initially I was going to go with the MS3, but then about a year ago I started hearing about the ECU Masters setup. When I posed a question in the local Supra FB group (mostly...
It's been 11 years since i installed the T-stat, but I'm sure I installed it with the hole at/near 12:00, and I might have removed the jiggle valve from the hole. As far as the cap, it's the one that came with the Fluidyne radiator, though there is a sticker on it that I've thought about...
IIRC, I have the Flex-A-Lite dual fans, and I've mounted/sealed them to the radiator so there are no errant airflow leaks. The fans move a LOT of air. And no, no undercover - my car never had one, at least as long as I've owned it. Car never had cooling problems before the rebuild.
I've been down this road when I started troubleshooting it. It's a brand-new (at least when I bought it from someone on here) Fluidyne radiator; water pump was good when I built the motor, and I tested the T-stat on the stove, which was good. I think I installed another brand-new Toyota unit...
Has anyone ever measured (whether Toyota, or some industrious individual) the actual flow of the coolant system? This is one of the things I plan to do in the process of troubleshooting my cooling issues, and it'd be nice to have a baseline to reference, if it exists. Thanks!
Thanks, I appreciate that - and same to you! My biggest issues after dropping the motor in are cooling under load/boost, and fuel pressure too high and not adjustable. I got fed up and parked it...lol.
I see the site has finally been restored -- AWESOME! I've missed this place, and the resources for working on my turd...lol.
Latest and greatest with mine is, it's still sitting in my garage...although I'm getting the urge more and more to finally figure out her issues (same ones I had 11...
