Which is which for the connections on the alternator itself? I don't have any of those colored wires. There are two connections that are parralel to each other and one connection that is perpindicular to those. I think I'm using the lower parralel connection right now.
Just got the truck a while back and the alternator took a crap the other day. Anyway, it only has one wire hooked to the back of the alternator that sends it a 12v signal when the ignition comes on and the other two posts in the back are unused. It's putting out 14.5 volts, but I'm curious as...
Cool. Thanks. They are definitely the cheapest option. I looked at Summit and Jegs and the Meziere and others are $350-$450. Looks like next payday I'll try one out.
Well I just got back from another test drive. Took the top off, folded down the back seat, and left the windows down. It was dusk so it was only 103F.:aigo:
Went right up to 230 and stayed there a while then started creeping up some more toward 240.
So I left it in 5th and went 1200rpm...
I have a 7MGTE in my 85 4-Runner rock crawler. I just put a 2-row aluminum 31x19 radiator with a 26x17.5 core in the back of the bed with a shroud and 2200 cfm fan. To get to the back I needed about 20 feet of piping and the radiator fill cap is above the back seat.
It will idle and go...
So I have gas puddling up on my manifold from a leaky o-ring or seal. I went ahead and bought six injector seal kits. The manual says to use gasoline to lubricate the seals prior to installation. Can I use a dab of grease in place of the gasoline?
To put it into perspective for you. I have a 2005 GTO with a 6.0L LS2 that is going to run a single GT-70 STS kit. So I have double the displacement for the same turbo. I would expect it to be laggy as hell on a Supra. If it's a good deal you can try it and if it sucks then just sell it.
Evening update. Put on the EGR blockoff plate. What a total PITA that was. This thing hauls butt now. On a dirt road as soon as the boost starts hitting it starts going sideways if you keep in it. All this with a detroit locker, 37" tires, and 8 psi. Tommorow I am also going to turn it up to...
Thanks.
I'll put up pics of the AFM housing tommorow morning when it's light out. I found one of the injectors not plugged in and now it straight hauls. On a dirt road as soon as the boost starts hitting it starts going sideways if you keep in it. All this with a detroit locker, 37" tires...
