Just bought a 1990 Supra turbo targa, auto

Don't assume a blown head gasket, but do test for it. You want to do a test for exhaust gases in the coolant. Should be info in the tech-tip section on testing for a BHG. First watch your coolant carefully, check for any leaks, and try to burp the air out of the system. If you can't keep the air...

How much ester oil in AC?

The TSRM does have the oil spec's, but it's for mineral oil and R-12. This site, www.cygnusx1.net/supra/techtip/R134a.html ,has a good bit of info on the conversion, but doesn't deal with ester oil. I could be wrong, but after reading what I could find, I put 2 ounces of ester oil in my...

    Machinist straight edge?

I'm in the middle of a BHG repair on my '87 turbo and I'm going back with a OEM headgasket. The block is hopefully staying in the car, but I want to check it for flatness. And check the exhaust manifold also, maybe before I take the head in. So what do I need for a "machinist straight edge"...

Hey guys, I'm in Evergreen. Currently doing a BHG repair on my '87 turbo. I need to find a machine shop for head work. Any suggestions in the Denver area? I'm going to use an OEM gasket but want a place I can trust to do good (excellent) work.
